The good news: It’s a heavy blow to the Trump boomlet. The bad news: … none that I can think of, really.
Actually, the bad news is that I lose a vein of easy content to blog. Help me, viral videos, you’re my only hope.
More crosstabs from WaPo. The “Honolulu/Hawaii” column is the big one, obviously:
This poll was conducted before Obama’s announcement of the Bin Laden killing, in case you’re inclined to attribute the huge bounce to goodwill rather than evidence. Needless to say, the key lines are the ones for Republicans and Conservative Republicans; in both groups, the number of Birthers was cut by more than half after the birth certificate revelation. (In fact, it was likely deeper than that. Birtherism had been spiking in the last few weeks since Trump mainstreamed the issue, so it was probably higher than the April 2010 numbers shown here.) I argued a few weeks ago that, contrary to big media’s received wisdom, Birthers aren’t a homogeneous group but rather a mix of hardcore and softcore believers, the latter of which were simply misinformed because they weren’t following the issue closely. These numbers bear that out. Which, for Chris Matthews, means … what? Republicans are racist, but maybe not quite as racist as he thought? What happens to the narrative?
Some people were hassling me in Headlines over this poll because I suggested yesterday in the post about the Bin Laden photos that evidence doesn’t convince skeptics anymore. Fair enough; at the very least, I should have qualified that by specifying that I meant skeptics with an agenda. But give the Birther issue time. I’ll be mighty keen to see if the numbers still look like this in six months — which, theoretically, they should — or if they start to creep back up as discontent with Obama’s policies rises and/or hardcore Birthers regroup and start challenging the long-form birth certificate. Trump had better hope so. Somehow, I don’t see the “trade war with China” platform carrying him to the nomination.
I'm generally not prone to gloom and doom but lately I've begun to consider that it is already too late. I think this next election may be our final chance to start getting it right, but even so, we've been overrun by people who are destroying this country.
You can fix most anything, but you can't fix stupid.
If they exist, there are records for the mom and the baby.
So....Even if the hospital claims than no one has a right to access Stanley Ann's records, Obama has a clear right to release **his** own!
It is it amazing the deafening silence coming from Kapiolani Hospital?
They have been dead on arrival. What on earth is going on with them? I absolutely don't get it. Maybe, some day the truth will come out.
I said from day one that I was afraid Trump was in on the deal. He constantly talked about how he could spot a forgery. Now he says the LFBC is legit. If he had constantly talked about O Sr being a kenyan I would have felt a little better about it.
If we let go of dealing with the lawlessness that has surrounded this issue we may as well piss on this country and the rule of law.
I can accept that we may need to make tactical and/or strategic adjustments, but if the idea is that we need to just accept that our entire government, media, courts, and law enforcement are and always will be lawless, unaccountable thugs, then I’d be dead first before truly accepting that.
The day I give up on confronting this lawlessness is the day I hand my country over to death. I have to admit I’m close to doing that, close to saying “screw you” to this whole farce of a country. Amazing that in such a short time Obama’s minions were able to convert this into the reality and mental pathology of a third-world banana republic, with coward contenders now fighting over who gets to rule the rubble.
I’m tired. I shouldn’t be here. Shouldn’t be reading any of this. I should be out in the fresh air among living things reminding myself that God will not be mocked and justice will not be averted forever. I have a Defender, and He will not fail me. This world will go through its birth pains, maybe soon. Our crucifixion. But at the end of it will be resurrection day, and life and truth will win. Even so, Lord Jesus, quickly come! Bring on the pains so the birth can come.
I think it depends on what state you live in. Some states do have paternity fraud laws. Also you can legally remove a father’s name from a birth certificate if he is not the father.
I don’t believe there is any Federal law for this or at least not one involved in establishing a “natural born citizen”.
I am not having this silly argument with you. Pick and chose what facts you like. The "Born on the Soil" Argument would have made citizens of Slaves and Indians.
(Aside from, obviously, everything he's ever said about anything.)
His Facade of being "Barack Obama" (implying a sort of exotic mystique of African culture) when he knows full well that Barack Sr. is not his father. His continuously offering up less than fully forth coming birth documents in order to keep the truth about him obscured.
I believe he fears ridicule and worse, loss of votes as a result of people finding out who his real father is, and how he intentionally deceived everyone about it.
I can see this being changed in the not to distant future. Too many people are being scammed into parenting through fraud. Any mother can claim who the father is on the B.C. without any real proof.
But strangely enough, I consider them to be far more accurate than "Official" state documents. As one who has been adopted, I am fully aware of the fact that State documents may not contain the actual truth.
The "Law" is an Ass. The legal system has made a methodology out of the "Fallacy of Authority." They call it "Precedent."
RE: Fact One: Some knowledgeable legal scholars are of the opinion that to be a NBC, one must be born in country of two citizen parents.
Fact Two: Some knowledgeable legal scholars are of the opinion that to be a NBC, one must be born in country of only one citizen parent
I would add one more -— Many posters here at FR are of the opinion that SIMPLY BEING BORN IN US SOIL makes one natural Born ( that makes many children born of illegals natural born and eligible to be president ).
Not saying I agree, Just saying, I’ve read FR posters argue this.
Of those that changed their minds, now saying US born: How many saw the Denninger youtube that shows the layers and color aberration problems in the White House PDF? (I’m willing to guess 0%.)
The White House did not release an un-manipulated scan of the document they brought back from Hawaii. There is no disagreement about this fact. The supporters claim there was OCR and other enhancement innocently performed on the document. Why manipulate it at all?
Once the thing is manipulated electronically, it is very hard to tell the extent of changes. Manipulation adds suspicion, correctly.
Oh, absolutely, but again, given the “leadership” we have in the Republican party, the millions (billions) of dollars Obama has cached away for fighting these battles, there will be (like I say) no resolutions for years down the road. So, yes, keep up the fight, if we can, but really hammer on the issues that are harming our country RIGHT NOW!
Would that suffice?
They also call it “not being the actual father is no excuse for not paying child support”.
The law recognizes legal documents. A scientist recognizes DNA. The law seems to think legal documents are more important. Scientists seem to think evidence is more important.
But really - your “I know who is the REAL father” is as silly as asking for the “REAL” birth certificate instead of the short form - as a matter of law - it doesn’t matter.
Cordially,
An interesting theory, but impossible to prove. As the old saying goes, fatherhood is opinion, motherhood is fact. Everyone thinks they 'know full well' who their father is, but this is territory most Americans aren't going to be interested in traversing. Especially some mothers. ;-)
Given the proclivities of your average politician, you won't find much zeal in pushing the idea of mandatory DNA testing with them, either.
Sorry, but if that's all you've got, then Barryock Hussainvis Soterobama has nothing to worry about. Americans that voted for him like the mystique, and sticking to his story now, when no evidence exists to contradict it, could not be easier.
