Hero dog helped snare Osama

A FEARLESS four-legged recruit joined US Special Forces as they stormed Osama Bin Laden's secret lair.

The explosive-sniffing dog was strapped to an assault team member as they took on one of their greatest challenges to date.

He was part of the operation in which the elite US Navy Seals lowered themselves down ropes from three Black Hawk helicopters into the terrorist supremo's hideout in the town of Abbottabad, Pakistan, on Sunday.

Heavily armoured hounds — equipped with infrared night-sight cameras — have been used in the past by the top-secret unit.

Wearing oxygen masks, the pooches have been trained to jump from aircraft at 25,000ft, before seeking out insurgents in hostile environments.

The animals will attack anyone carrying a weapon.

The guy who set up seal team 6 during the cold war was on FOX yesterday morning.

He said that at that time there were only two seal teams - 1 and 2. He named his team "6" to drive the Russians nuts trying to locate numbers 3, 4 and 5.

My daughter's high school graduating class did a Senior Prank -- they painted numbers on pigs, greased them, and let them loose on campus.

The pigs were numbered 1, 2, 3 and 5. Everybody went nuts looking for Pig No. 4.

The pigs were borrowed from the Bible teacher.

Reminds me of giving cat bath.

The only way to do it is to put the cat in the stool along with pet shampoo and quickly close the lid. Wait until noise stops Flush three times to rinse. When raising the lid use a long stick and under no circumstances block the cats exit.

Last year, it was reported that the (British) SAS was already using dogs in this capacity...Personally, I find it deeply satisfying that the dogs are being used in such a manner against muslims who have such an aversion them.

"UK special forces in Afghanistan are parachuting German shepherds with video cameras strapped to them into Taliban strongholds to search buildings for insurgents.

...At least eight animals have been killed during these types of operations and animal rights campaigners have now expressed their outrage. People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (Peta) said: "Dogs are not tools or "innovations" and are not ours to use and toss away like empty ammunition shells."

The dogs are being strapped to the chest of their handlers for the parachute drops, and cameras are attached to their heads to feed back images of buildings and surrounding areas.

The dogs are reportedly trained to attack armed people, and eight of them have died in action so far. "But that would be eight SAS men," a source told the Times."

SAS build shrine for hero hounds

“What our dogs will do for us never ceases to amaze me. Knowing how much the Islamists hate dogs, it makes me smile even more to think that the last thing OBL saw was American troops and dogs in his house.”

I could not agree more. What a fitting end to his pathetic life.

Dogs love having jobs. Have you ever seen how happy a working dog is when it is working?

Dogs are playing a big part on the war on....bedbugs.

Dog training academies are looking for rescued dogs to train them to detect bedbugs, both living and dead. Number one prerequisite is a high ball drive.

They either jump with a “static line”, which is a cord attached to the parachute and the plane to pull the handle or, they are equipped with an AAD or automatic activation device. The AAD uses an altimeter and deploys the chute at a preset altitude.

From the photo it looks like a tandem harness. That keeps the handeler and the dog together for when they get down.
