NFL star Rashard Mendenhall is at the centre of a storm over Twitter posts he made on Monday night about Osama bin Laden's death.
The Pittsburgh Steelers running back criticised people who celebrated the terror mastermind shooting.
It forced the team's president to issue a statement distancing the organisation from Mendenhall's comments.
Mendenhall ranted on Twitter against the general reaction to the Al Qaeda's death and even questions that Bin Laden was responsible for the 9/11 attacks.
He tweeted: 'We'll never know what really happened. 'I just have a hard time believing a plane could take a skyscraper down demolition style.'
The scenes of celebration around the country on Sunday night and Monday annoyed the football star.

Given that the msm gives Jesse Ventura a platform to spew his insanity this is no surprise.
Useful idiots are always exploited by the America hating leftist media.
My reaction: He’s a football player.
There was a female guest on the radio tonight who has written a book about the “conspiracy to demolish WTC buildings” on 9/11. She actually stated that there was a hurricane reported at the three NYC airports on that day, Hurricane Erin (I actually thought she said Aaron) I checked for it and it was actually Hurricane Erin, and its path came no where near NYC. Between this one, Jesse Ventura and that shrill, no talent Alex Jones, we are doomed.
I know this may be a little off the wall: But I worked as a structural designer in concrete and structural steel for over 40 years; and even as I watched the twin towers fall, I could hardly believe my eyes. But given more research it is very feasable.
We should not forget,a Fed-X pilot attemped to hi-jack a Fed-X plane a few years earlier than 9-11-01 and crash it into the Fed-X hub in Memphis.
It’s like a pastor(Ron Dunn)said:”It is easier for me to say no to Satan, than it is to say yes to God.”
And like the cartoon character in B.C. comics said:.... “Man has no trouble at all believing he can become God;.....Yet he cannot bring himself to believe, that God can become man.”
Reahuh making the extra effort to push that link everywhere, huh?
As long as it is relevant FRiend - btw welcome to FR
I wonder if Ventura will get called out this time thru as the OBL/SEALS talk heats up ....Ventura was never a SEAL ... never saw combat ... was never in Vietnam.
I hear a big flushing sound in his future.
If he runs for 1000+ yards and 30 TDs, he’ll still not make the Pro Bowl.
With stats like the ones you posted, Mendenhall could be caught, with video and photo evidence mind you, of having a ménage à trois with Osama bin Laden along with a goat and still make it to the Pro Bowl.
I think Oprah and Rosie O'Donnel started all this doubt, as you know they are the great intellectual icons of the left.
Point taken. Thanks for the image. Yuck.
I find it hard to believe that Mendenhall could operate a digital device to even tweet this nonsense.
Well put.
Thank You!
Hurricane Erin was 507 miles from NYC at 8am on 9/11 with a wind speed of 90mph headed NNE at 5mph. In NYC that morning it was calm and clear.
Boycott the Steelers organization and their advertising partners along with any other corporations that may have endorsement deals with this onion head. Hit this idiot in his pocket book.
I hear ya ... back-to-back long nights had me clicking the link several times! lol
And Tassel didn’t know they were trading items. Of course my UConn is not perfect either...
