ABC News' Jake Tapper reports here and here on the Obama administration giving Osama bin Laden a Muslim-led Islamic burial at sea so as not to "inflame" the Muslim world.

Bin Laden's corpse was taken to Afghanistan to have his DNA tested for positive identification. The body was then flown to the aircraft carrier USS Carl Vinson, officials told ABC News and he was buried at sea. The burial was done in accordance with Islamic law, officials said. A Muslim seaman conducted the process and said the prayers, with bin Laden's body wrapped in the "appropriate way."
Obama administration officials said it was important to handle the body in accordance with Islamic practices so not to inflame the Muslim world.
Really. My attitude is if the Muslim world wanted to ensure a proper Islamic burial for bin Laden they should have killed him and buried him.
I can't wait for the video of our non-Muslim sailors forced to stand at attention as bin Laden is dumped overboard.
All the while, the kill one of ours and we see his head on a plate!! This type of compassion should stop immediately - they are the enemy and should be treated accordingly.
Is there any chance at all that he was dumped into the Bay of Pigs?
I think they should have stuffed him with pork products and released the video.

Even after our military conducted a brilliant, precise operation to take him out, we’re still trying to prove Osama’s statement from ten years ago that he was the “stronger horse.” This sort of behavior only confirms it.
I think the burial at sea is a good idea, but they should’ve just taken what documentation they needed (photos, DNA, etc.), then just flung him over the side. No ceremony, except maybe a couple thousand off-duty sailors singing “nananana nananana heeeeeyyy, good-bye” as he headed into the Indian Ocean to become fish poop.

They should have fed OBL’s body to the pigs and videotaped it. Then when the Muslims and the American left complain, just say:
“Well, he wasn’t a Muslim, because Islam is a peaceful religion. And since he wasn’t a Muslim, we do this as a message to all the other Jihadist non-Muslims that they have no hope ever of being in Paradise, unlike all you true peaceful Muslims who now can celebrate this murderous pretender’s death with us.”
My sympathy goes to the Seaman.
Being ordered to perform this duty to an enemy would be difficult. Now, not only is his faith separating him from his comrades in arms; he was ordered to perform a service that was likely very unpopular as well.
I bet he believes in God, now, and wishes he didn’t opt for the 72 virgins.

Exactly right. It is a fool's game to try to appease irrational behavior. I am all for according last respects to those who deserve it, even enemies. But we buy nothing by showing respect where it is not due.

It was this religion that sparked 911. Bin Laden was just a tool. As long as people don’t get that then we remain defeated. We are still embracing the bogyman. Much more harm is yet to come.
Did they provide pictures? They expect Muslims to believe them without picutres? Amzaing they would think that. ;-)
