A leading Republican senator on Monday question the U.S. government's decision to dispose of Osama bin Laden's body within 24 hours.
Bin Laden, the former al Qaeda leader killed by U.S. forces on Sunday, was buried within 24 hours of his death in accordance with Islamic law. Sen. Lindsey Graham (S.C.), a top Republican on the Armed Services Committee, is skeptical of the decision.
"To me, that didn't make a lot of sense," Graham said during an interview with conservative radio talk show host Laura Ingraham.
U.S. forces were able to capture bin Laden's body after killing him at a compound outside Pakistan's capital city of Islamabad, but he was buried at sea soon afterward, reportedly to not leave a shrine to him.
The Obama administration is debating whether or not to release photos of bin Laden's body after some have expressed concern that the U.S. needs to do so to prove his death.
But others in the administration have been hesitant due to the graphic nature of the photo.
Michael Scheurer, a former CIA official, said Monday morning that the U.S. will likely release the photos to erase any doubt that he is dead.
And the "deather" movement will be born.
Hmmm......
The SEAL team that breached the place will have lots of pictures and videos. As will those providing air cover. So it will be very easy to document the raid.
And what of all the “stuff”? The place this happened at was pretty big and had to be full of all sorts of documents and evidence. This is something else that must be shown to the public.
Call me cynical but I think that Obama and Co. have held back things and started rumors so they can come out with the “evidence” dispelling their own rumors and make the “point” that all these questions about what Obama does are nothing more than racism or whatnot. Classic rope-a-dope so that they can point to ANYTHING that they have made look fishy then after doing so “prove” nothing was fishy.

Oh blah blah blah. I get the sense the world accepts this is true. The lefties can’t accuse Obama of making it up, and the conservatives are glad Bin Laden is dead as well.
It probably made sense to dump him so no one can make his grave a shrine. Worked for Hitler.
Considering he hasn't released a real video since he was killed at Tora Bora in 2001, that might be difficult. :)

Do you remember when a Pakastani Prime Minister said Osama was dead..and then she was killed. She named his killer.
oh man, I have to say that I agree with Linseed on this.
Please remember that the Bush admin released news such as this directly from the military. The military made the announcement that the Hussein brothers were dead and we saw the bodies.
Bush did not make the announcement like Obama did.
We have seen a photoshopped pic from 2010 of Bin Laden. I think we can handle the real thing. After all, he was shot in the face, so it could be hard to tell it is even Osama. *cough* *snort*

The guy was supposedly caught ON LAND. WHY go through the pains to cart his butt out to sea if you’re going to ‘bury’ him according to Islam rules???
Why didn’t they just bury him on land if that was the case???
Not only that, but respecting enemy dead doesn't do anything to discourage another Bin Ladens from popping up. If fact, i believe it would encourage them.

It seems that completely getting rid of the body, leaving no trace is odd, but I also understand the idea of not allowing for a shrine. I don’t really know what to think.
Here’s what will happen — The Islamists will teach that the reason Americans say “He was buried at sea” is because they can’t produce a body—because Osama ascended directly to heaven.

He did release audio tapes that America said were real. I am just not into conspiracy theories. He’s dead. That’s all that matters. And if Obama was doing it for a bump, he would have been wise to wait until closer to the election.
