WASHINGTON (AFP) – Al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden is dead, and President Barack Obama will announce his death, nearly 10 years after the September 11 attacks in a televised address, a senior US official told AFP.
The official said on condition of anonymity that Bin Laden was dead, but did not provide details of how his death occurred.
Obama was imminently to address Americans in a highly unusual Sunday night appearance on television.

CNN almost creepy in the way they are trying to cement this as Obama’s moment, this HUGE, HISTORIC moment ... it has the smell of a coordinated event.
They can’t get the story straight....Bin Laden killed by gun fire? missle strike? bomb blast? kidney disease? daisy cutter at Tora Bora? Doesn’t really matter. Obama’s announcement of the death of Bin Laden confirms the death of America....and guarantees 4 more years of that disgusting Marxist in the White House.
Why, if it has been a week or 10 days, is it taking Obama this long to prepare his speech??? Should have already been done, and the world warned. Why just get his security team ready tonight??
Instead, The Anointed One was playing golf this morning. And partying last night.

This is the first time I have ever listened to Obama.
This is going to be one difficult speech. How will he take all the credit for the work of others and still apologize to the Dearborn Crowd in a way that they will still support him?
