The question of whether President Barack Obama was born on U.S. soil will have zero impact on the 2012 campaign but could significantly damage Republicans prospects for retaking the White House if it lingers. That was the consensus analysis of more than a dozen experienced GOP political strategists, consultants and operatives who were interviewed Wednesday within an hour of Obama going on national television to publicly release the long-form version of his birth certificate...

...But they worry that any attention given to the birth certificate issue could paint the Republican Party as out of touch and extreme, making it anathema to independents and swing voters while protecting Obama from the glare of what they view as troubling economic indicators that should sink his re-election bid.

A fringe minority on the far right of the political spectrum has questioned whether Obama, whose father was a native of Kenya, was born in Hawaii. This small group, many of whom also questioned Obamas religion, has continued to believe that the president is foreign-born.

Thus, we have a rather meager segment of the initial liberal barrage to denigrate the GOP and conservatives.
Basically and effectively. A popcorn fart in the middle of a blizzard.
T3h One is POed that he had to cowtow to a savvy, unwashed businessman who wouldn’t accept ‘No!’ for an answer. So that businessman and any and all associated with him must be destroyed!!!
Problem is, the Standard Operating Procedure of the White House and its liberal media elite has grown so weak and tiresome that no one is not listening.
Just sayin’.
Jack.
They're not. This is Roll Call, not National Review. What they write should be suspect, from the get go.
This is their permanent condition and why the grassroots is deserting them in favor of the tea party. We're tired of the craven calculation of the lowest-risk course. We want representatives who will stand on principle regardless of the consequences..."Our Lives, our Fortunes and our Sacred Honor", not, "go-along to get-along until I can draw a cushy retirement".
The problem is 53% of the voters elected this Marxist freak of nature. The other problem is the GOP is squandering the support of those who voted to give them the control of the hose and they are afraid to use it???? What about us?
Birth certificate or no birth certificate. Did he lose his American citizenship when he became a citizen of Inonesia?
How did those strategists work out for McCain?
Pray for America
GOP “strategists” with “fear” of anything ....
GET LOST
The bottom line is that the GOP has a “Choir Boy” approach to dealing with “Street Thugs”. As a result they get punked at every turn. Until they grow a pair and develop a killer instinct, we are so very screwed.
What we need are more like Sarah Palin and Allen West and a lot less John Cornyn or John McLame.
Yep, the same predicted the Ryan townhall fury.
Who paid real money for these strategists?
still searching in vain for something GOP strategists do not fear
There, fixed it!
If the headline from that steaming pile can be believed, then the GOP strategists are spineless, gutless rag dolls.
In fact, the GOP strategists *ARE* spineless, gutless rag dolls, whether or not the headline is true.
Yep. Compromise is not a virtue when liberty is at stake.
The GOP-RNC are useless scared ninnies.
If they had any brass, they’d point out that Barry’s purported father, a Kenyan, makes Barry ineligible. He is not the son of 2 Americans, and is not eligible to be POTUS.
Oh but the GOP-RNC-RINOs are way too timid to point that out.
What a bunch of losers.
Another example of the repubs letting the leftists shape the dialogue.
The minimum retort should be that Obama is the one who caused this issue to escalate by not releasing the COLB in 2008. Of course, if any wrong-doing is found, or if a Federal court were to rule that NBC requires to US citizen parents, the Obama loyal will have to resort to their normal scorched-earth tactics.
