RussiaToday ^ | April 26, 2011

And if he is killed since this “isn’t a war” would it not be an assasination?

I guess Putin would have preferred that Kadaffy be secretly poisoned.

I increasingly feel that the use of nuclear weapons should be our first military action. If you want to fight, then fight to win. If we don't have to stomach to devastate our opponent, then maybe we shouldn't get invovled.

I would have either nuked Tripoli, or said that it was not our fight.
(Meaning: this was not our fight.)

Right. If he assassinates a world leader then that is illegal and represents high crimes and grounds for impeachment.

Uh ... Lockerbie?

There’s no statute of limitations on bombing a plane and crashing it into a town.

Go drink a polonium cocktail, Putin you ludicrous murderer.

Where are the anti war protesters? Shouldn’t they be demanding Obama be tried as a war criminal?

If Russia and/or China were to send their own advisors to Gadaffi defense, this could be a big game-changer in a hurry. NATO better be careful what they are doing and not awake the sleeping bear.

There’s no statute of limitations on bombing a plane and crashing it into a town.

Then convene a Grand Jury and indict him for murder. Then we'd at least have that fig leaf. We could use Panama as precedent. Indict him, demand his surrender, and if he refuses send in troops to capture him and return him to the US for trial.

“...If he assassinates a world leader then that is illegal ...”

Gee...but it’s OK when “World Leaders” start wars which end up “assassinating” hundreds of thousands of innocent citizens...and somehow THAT’S not illegal???

My suggestion: the world would be a LOT better off taking out the one or two butthead dictators that start wars (i.e., Hitler, Stalin, Mao, Castro, Chavez, Saddam, etc., ) than allowing them to continue breathing.

I don’t subscribe to the international line of thought that we need anyone or anythings permission to kill any foreign leader. The only permission we need is that of congress’s.
