Diversity ain't our strength.

We need to pull out if we aren't serious about winning.

Get us the hell out of that cesspool! There is no reason to keep squandering lives and money in a stone-age country.

So much for “Nation Building”. I prefer total victory or get out, take your nation building and shove it!

I would be interested to know where exactly this took place on the airport. Civilian side, or military side?

In the new section which is NATO controlled or the Afghan side, much less so?

Many questions.

Kabul, Afghanistan (CNN) -- At least six American service members were killed Wednesday when a man opened fire on troops and a "gunfight" ensued at an airport in the Afghan capital, military officials said.

We aren’t serious about winning. We should pull out. We don’t owe these savages anything.

I enlisted during Vietnam and have NEVER promoted the idea of America leaving a half done war.

Today, that is changed.

We need to leave Afghanistan.

When they are American casualties, they are now referred to as “NATO” troops to protect Hussein.

Worthless POS Associated Press.

That is the whole point - if we are not going to fight to win, then we should not fight at all. Period. How many American men and women have given life and limb in this “war” as well as in Iraq.... all to have our officials basically sabotage our efforts there.

Regardless of how one feels about these two conflicts, we either need to fully support VICTORY (whatever that may ultimately mean), or we need to get the heck out.

Before we cut and run let's put this into perspective:

Before the airport shooting, the coalition had recorded 20 incidents since March 2009 where a member of the Afghan security forces or someone wearing a uniform used by them attacked coalition forces, killing a total of 36. It is not known how many of the 282,000 members of the Afghan security forces have been killed in these type of incidents.

According to information compiled by NATO, half of the 20 incidents involved the impersonation of an Afghan policeman or soldier. The cause of the other 10 incidents were attributed to combat stress or unknown reasons. NATO said that so far, there is no solid evidence — despite Taliban assertions — that any insurgent has joined the Afghan security forces for the sole purpose of conducting attacks on coalition or Afghan forces.

Ignoring the possibility of cover ups, that's 20 incidents in 24 months of active combat. Assuming there are additional conspirators (which in most instances there don't appear to be) we can multiply the 20 incidents by 4 and get 80 tangos in uniform.

80/282000 = 0.028% of total Afghani forces are a risk to our troops.

A very small number. Now, clearly our strategy and ROE in Afghanistan stink and are wasteful. A better strategy would be to withdraw the bulk of our forces and simply make ruling Afghanistan untenable for the Taliban. The Soviets did this and we can do it better and cheaper as measured in dollars and American lives.

Americans reduced to being only feckless, nameless NATO troops. Great cover for the huge Obama war death toll. Far worse than when Bush was running things.

Americans dying in a country that will never be anything other than it is now.

Since the US has no border protection and a muslim in the WH, just what the hell are these American’s dying for?

We need to leave because we’re not serious about winning and we’re letting good men die for nothing! Pull out...let the pigs wallow in their filth and if another attack is ever launched from there nuke them to hell and back!

Unfortunately, to really keep the “loyalty” of such people in a way they understand - we would have to know where this man lives, where his extended family lives, and should they pull such a stunt in the future, his entire family would be killed.

Of course, we are not in such a business. That’s why we can not civilize these people.

The U.S. needs stop going to war period because our leaders don't go to war to win anymore. How did our civil war and WW2 get resolved before our wars with Afghanistan and Iraq? These wars should have been resolved several years ago and could have been if we had fought a total war. If I don't believe a war should be fought to win at all cost then I don't believe it's a war that is important enough to be fought at all.

In a way we can thank Brits for this mess.

These post-colonial “nations” should have long ago been allowed to fragment along tribal lines, and not arbitrarily drawn up by the former colonial powers borders, instead of pretending there is actually a “nation” of Afghanistan.
