Stanley Ann Dunham, better known as President Barack Obama's mother, passed away in 1995 before seeing her son become the most powerful man in the world.
In this weekend's New York Times Magazine, Dunham gets a long profile adapted from Janny Scott's forthcoming book, A Singular Woman: The Untold Story of Barack Obama’s Mother.
The article paints a portrait of a complex woman who traveled to Indonesia with her second husband, battled the customs while raising her son and new daughter, and eventually returned to Hawaii.
As Scott writes, "To describe Dunham as a white woman from Kansas turns out to be about as illuminating as describing her son as a politician who likes golf."
The President described his mother as "single constant in my life."

Do I think she screwed Barry up 10x worse? Ditto.
Only in a society purposefully dumbed down by decades of public school lunacy could this whack job, Barry, have made it into the Oval Office. I do think his house of cards is folding, though. It seems like he’s been usurping the office for freaking ever, but it won’t be indefinite. We’ll soon vote him out—if he doesn’t crumble for psychological reasons first.
History will not be kind to Barry’s reign of destruction or his enablers. What strange, strange times we live in.

I hear you. There is so much evidence, on such a variety of levels, as to what the Framers meant by NBC, it would take a large book to hold even most of it. I have seen zero evidence to the contrary: i.e.: supporting the idea that a NBC could be the child of a foreigner, could have divided loyalties at birth, or could be born on foreign soil.
There is one Obot troll who argues—notably ONLY on threads devoid of FR Constitutional scholars—that the 14th Amendment set the Framer’s intention aside. He is an a$$, though, and resorts to nasty personal attacks at the drop of a hat.
Anyway, it would be cool if the best Constitutional minds at FR would consider writing a book on the subject. The research you people have done is amazing. It really needs to be organized, and set out in a single reference book; it would be priceless. If only it could happen....

My view, too. The Donald is doing so much good just by raising this issue and showing how being a real fighter works, that he’s necessarily going to draw the entire GOP field along with him. If the GOP establishment gets really worried, they might push Christie or Perry into the race just to stop the Donald, which would be a good thing because we have so few really powerful candidates.

Based on my personal experience interviewing with the CIA and reading their 15 book reading list that they suggested to help recruits understand what the agency, espionage and counterespionage was all about, I would say that if Stanley Ann was a KGB operative recruited in her youth (by KGB asset FM Davis, for example) you have described a truly orgasmic setting for a KGB agent to exploit in scouting, grooming and recruiting future KGB assets!
If Stanley Ann was hired by the US Embassy to do low level clerical stuff not requiring a clearance, then as a conveniently located ex-pat she might never have gone through a US security clearance. Given that she and her father were likely "associates" of FM Davis, clearance might have been denied.
To get to have him teach you it was first necessary to be an "asset" or on your way to being an "asset".
You'll notice the KGB didn't take over Indonesia BUT the USA does have amicable relations with that country.
As far as her being properly vetted, at the time she visited Jogjakarta (the old imperial capital city of the rulers of Java) it was OFFLIMITS for foreigners. Today, much to my surprise (as I did fact checking on the net) it is OPEN to foreigners ~ it has become quite a cultural asset of interest to big spending touristas.
I recall from other reading in her career that she had a cover with the Ford Foundation ~ very typical of the time.

Well, Sukarno and company had it all figured out that he was in Indonesia as a "watcher" for the paymasters so they put him to work in a job that would keep him out of their hair. He quickly became a professional "pimp" for Sukarno and his entourage. They'd travel here and there, go to Cuba, Romania, other SE Asian countries, Africa ~ or wherever, at it was Tas' job to get women for their use.
By the time I met him he'd lost all his illusions about EVERYBODY and EVERYTHING, and particularly about White Folk (like the Russians).
He was making a living for himself writing stories about his childhood growing up in a kraal in Rhodesia ~ and he was a pretty good writer. He'd gotten syndicated even.
His big buddies were these two guys from Angola who'd been kinda' shoved out by the Cubans. They wanted to go back and start pumping oil and get rich.
All of these men were typical Africans ~ very black from years in the Sun, and very, very, very poor. They could live on a can of King Oscar for a week, and outside their winter coats, they had trousers, t-shirts and shaving gear. That was about it and they didn't even seem to notice they didn't own anything.
They were getting educated ~ and at a place for more important on a world scale than Lumumba University.

In Indonesia social welfare is administered through a network of government approved Islamic Mullahs.
They come around to visit you ~ check your income and apparant wealth (look at your clothes, belongings, does he own a cow perhaps, or an oxen), and lord forbid you have a 20 room house!
They'll assess the visible assets, what they know of your outside income and tell you how many servants you must have ~ and pay.
Servants are cheap in Indonesia.
So, Obama had a baby sitter and a cook ~ or rather, his mother and father had only 2 servants.
They were NOT wealthy people by Indonesia standards.
I'd bet that when they transferred from the public schools to the private school for foreigners they got some more servants assessed against them.
Whatever Stanley Ann said she used she was hiding the fact she used the switch.
A careful survey of Barry's house in Chicago revealed NO PLANTS at ground level that could have a usable switch!
It was switches ~ absolutely certain. Stanley lied about it because she finally realized that kind of switching was going out of popularity.

Well I didn’t mean to downplay the drug angle—Obama DID do drugs, including cocaine, and there’s no doubt it affected him. [He may still be doing them, for all we know.] It’s just that rewriting history is such a classic, ***classic*** manifestation of Malignant Narcissism, I couldn’t resist commenting on it.
I didn’t know about the 25 k to al-qaeda. There’s just no enemy of the US this post-modernist, post-colonialist, post-American guy won’t embrace, is there?
Lol. Yes, I’ve read about the ‘go cut me a switch’ routine. I wouldn’t doubt SAD used switches on Barry. What I find intriguing, though, is that he can’t admit it. He has to rewrite his childhood, and create one in which corporeal punishment didn’t exist. Classic malignant narcissism at work.
It would be fascinating to know what Barry’s childhood was ***really*** like. A child with one absent or abusive parent rarely turns into a full blown sociopath. Usually it takes major, horrible issues with both parents to do the trick. I bet life with SAD was horrendous for a young boy. We’ll never know for sure, though. Obama has made a complete break with the reality of his childhood, and all we’ll ever get—from him anyway—is a tapestry of lies.
