I have personally spoken with 5 people who admitted to voting for Obama who new nothing about the BC issue. When I was done, they were horrified and said they would not be so quick to vote for him again.
One of me, 5 of the. Multiply that by all the birthers pushing the issue. I’d say the issue works just fine.

Exactly, this whole claim relates to Donald Trump. The sad part is, the birther movement, despite some having sincere beliefs only serve the purpose of the 9/11 truthers did with the foolish assumption that Obama would really try and end the wars any sooner than was set on the agreements with the Bush Administration, not significantly so. Obama is every bit part of the establishment right now as the other leftists are or were, and anyone who thinks progressives are anti-war is either deliberately denying or forgetting U.S. History.
As far as Obama as our president, I am ticking a whole lot more for his going into Libya, which unless you don’t know about how weaponry and war work, will have to wonder how truly humanitarian the whole conflict and aerial bombings really are, much less wonder how much any justification for it, not to mention the other issues of continuing the bailouts for businesses largely unfit to compete, trying to play around COngress with the EPA, and more past that.
As far as the BC is concerned? Who buys into the idea, or cares? From a reasonable standpoint, few do, and little legal action will likely remove Obama from office as a result, most people feel pretty certain in him. The COLB from Hawaii is enough to convince plenty of people that the birthers are a bunch of bitter conspiracy theorists, out of touch with what is going on. The left or Obama wants them to stay, because any division in what opposes Obama is pretty much neccessary for his re-election.
My own experience, and plenty easily share this, is the fact that we’ve got plenty of natural-born U.S. jerks around the block, Obama doesn’t have to be not natural-born citizen to be a jerk to us.
Anyways, at least on the birther issue, Glenn’s right that as an issue, it really won’t get us anywhere. My feeling is that this issue is pretty much a ruse to play on the right for whomever takes the bait.

You know simple logic. Obama was born in Honolulu or elsewhere. I say the evidence that he is born in Honolulu is sufficient. BTW, so does parctically every high profile conservative and Republican out there - we are all in the same boat, fools believing newspaper announcements and official statements and family recollections and COLBs shared by a campaign.
You say otherwise - FINE - your choice ... LOGICALLY then, you need an EXPLANATION for discounting the evidence that shows he IS born in Honolulu, and an alternative scenario and place of birth. What is it?
