The insanity virus spreads.....
He’s lucky he hasn’t already faced a firing squad.
Execute him for treason. That will solve the problem..................
Counselor's objection is reasonable. Why should Pvt. Manning be prevented from killing himself?
Oh, imagine the wailing and gnashing of global teeth had Manning been allowed to commit suicide... The above is standard procedure for solitary, is it not?
Actually, maybe they’re right. Manning should be put in general population. Then run an office pool on how long the little poofter survives.
the German Parliament is obviously way underemployed
What have they said lately about Iran and North Korean prisoners?
You might be aware of this as a Virginian, but roughly a year and a half ago (perhaps a bit less), there was a suicide at MCB Quantico. It was a BIG deal. Commanders at Quantico, and throughout the military's stockade and brig system, are now especially cautious because of it.
Manning, to compound matters, had already exhibited symptoms of psychological and psychiatric stress before the Wikileaks scandal. In fact, Manning was facing possible administrative separation because of it. Had Manning even been able to attempt suicide, to say nothing of committing suicide, officers at the highest level would have been relieved. They are being appropriately cautious here.
Had Manning succeeded, they all should have been given medals.
However, that said, I can't pick on the Germans too much for they are very “consistent” in their twisted and dysfunctional perceptions. There is a reason why near all RAF terrorists are free today. Why Americans that committed murder are not handed over to us unless we make promises that death is off the table. Why Rudolf Augstein publishing classified material about their Tornado years past that was incarcerated by Franz J. Strauss who was the head of the ministry of defense caused Strauss to have to resign! Think about that! A $hithead published “classified” materials in his smear rag Der Spiegel and Strauss, the only person with a pair, has him thrown in jail (Within the law I might add), causing Strauss to eventually have to resign because of all his political peers and superiors being limpwritsed!
The Germans in the past have actually had their own events similar to this and they generally acted like wimps then too. Those that took action like Franz Joseph Strauss ended up being sacrificed on their version of a politically correct altar: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Franz_Josef_Strauss (One of the last great German politicians)
Seriously, the Germans are simply emasculate. View them as such and their opinions on Manning make complete sense.
I second that motion...and there’s a few more who need to be with him IMHO.
“Unbelievable. The irony of Germany lecturing anyone, but especially us, on the treatment of “prisoners” is palpable.”
Never forget the people doing this complaining are the commies that just TWO decades ago would shoot “prisoners” trying to escape East Berlin. THE EXACT SAME EVIL CLOWNS. They have no shame.
Torture him. Get every piece of information you can with him, put a bullet in his head, then acquit the one who put the bullet in his head.
Pretty simple.
By the way, is Manning at Guantanamo?
If not, send him there.
If the Germans really want to help him, they should lower the prices on their cars. Yeah...a new Porsche 911 for say $5,000. A new Mercedes E class for oh, I don’t know, how about $2,500. Then, he would feel like Germany really cared for him. Yep, that’s the trick. Come on you Bundestag Babies and help this poor guy out! Even better, give away your cars in America! We could use them for shopping carts. Have a heart!
