Comments follow statements by Donald Trump questioning legitimacy of president's birth record
The Hawaiian state health official who personally reviewed Barack Obama's original birth certificate has affirmed again that the document is "real" and denounced "conspiracy theorists" in the so-called "birther" movement for continuing to spread bogus claims about the issue.

"It’s kind of ludicrous at this point," Dr. Chiyome Fukino, the former director of Hawaii's Department of Health, said in a rare telephone interview with NBC.
Fukino, sounding both exasperated and amused, spoke to a reporter in the aftermath of Donald Trump's statements on the NBC Today show last week questioning whether Obama has a legitimate birth certificate.
Trump, who says he is considering a run for president, repeated his claims on CNN's "State of the Union" Sunday, saying that "nobody has any information" about the president's birth and that "if he wasn't born in this country, he shouldn't be president of the United States."

OK, so Obama should have no trouble authorizing the DOH to provide a certified copy of the long form and his other records to the governor of Hawaii. Why didn’t he do this back when Gov. Abercrombie claimed to be trying to put the issue rest earlier this year?
Has to be part of the WH plan since they had just sent out a spokesperson to talk on the issue recently. No coicidence.

What needs to happen is Americans enmasse mail and email this Hawaiian official and challenge/dare them to prove Bammy’s citizenship by simply producing his long form BC and to stop the blustering and obfuscating. Make them hateful and sarcastic poking fun at how moronic and idiotic they are making themselves look by trying to protect their Dear Leader.
Oh yeah. Get the phone number and leave lots of voicemails and keep her office so busy with it all that they just finally give up and release it. We have to be relentless.
What is missing from ALL the Hawaiian official statements so far? There’s at least one normal thing that gets addressed in such responses that they haven’t ever addressed.
First of all, that image of the alleged Obama COLB that was put up on the internet has been proven to be fake, so NO, Obama didn't "fill out a form" to obtain it.
Secondly, the short form bc (COLB) isn't accepted as proof positive of identification by many gov't agencies, and even private institutions. Americans who were born in Hawaii still have to produce their long form birth certs, just like any other Americans. There still must be a mechanism for them to obtain a copy of their long form birth certificate, or they're in a world of hurt.
I was without a valid Texas driver's license for a couple of months, some years back, because the state of Texas accepts ONLY a long form bc as proof of identity.
Now, what if I'd been born in Hawaii, and my long form had gone missing? I'd be screwed, if Hawaii would only give me a COLB.
And transcripts, theses, voting records, appointment calendars, call records, tax returns before becoming President.....etc. The whole damned nine yards....they did this to Bush.

I doubt that Trump is afraid to say the words, "Natural Born Citizen". He's just not as educated on this issue, as the average Freeper is.

"They" didn't issue anything. Obama's campaign drones produced his COLB on a computer.
They did a terrible job, by the way. That thing has been picked apart by experts, and been proven to be fake.

Also until I believe august 2009 long forms were NEEDED by Hawaiians for their special applications for Hawaii Homelands. HDOH changed that without notice in what can only be described as a suspicious activity as a front to pretend long forms were no longer available. I am concerned maybe now they have put a forgery in place after Abercrumbs slip up...
The first is that the original so-called “long form” birth certificate — described by Hawaiian officials as a “record of live birth” — absolutely exists, located in a bound volume in a file cabinet on the first floor of the state Department of Health. Fukimo said she has personally inspected it — twice. The first time was in late October 2008, during the closing days of the presidential campaign, when the communications director for the state’s then Republican governor, Linda Lingle (who appointed Fukino) asked if she could make a public statement in response to claims then circulating on the Internet that Obama was actually born in Kenya.
Before she would do so, Fukino said, she wanted to inspect the files — and did so, taking with her the state official in charge of vital records. She found the original birth record, properly numbered, half typed and half handwritten, and signed by the doctor who delivered Obama, located in the files. She then put out a public statement asserting to the document’s validity. She later put out another public statement in July 2009 — after reviewing the original birth record a second time.

Health Director Dr. Chiyome Fukino said she hoped to end lingering rumors about Obama’s birthplace.
“I ... have seen the original vital records maintained on file by the Hawaii State Department of Health verifying Barack Hussein Obama was born in Hawaii and is a natural-born American citizen,” she said in a brief statement. “I have nothing further to add to this statement or my original statement issued in October 2008 over eight months ago.”

Why is this written in the third person? She found...If they interviewed her why don’t they have a direct, unequivocal quote: “I went to the records room, pulled the original bound volume of birth records for August 1961 and found the original long form birth certificate for Barrack Obama, properly filled out by the registrar and the attending obstetrician and bearing the original seal of the Office of Vital Statistics...”
