Donald Trump: Oil warrior
KIRO-FM ^ | April 9, 2011 | Dave Ross

Most of the hubbub over Donald Trump have been about his rebirth as a birther.

"Why doesn't he show his birth certificate?" asks Trump.

And Trump has done his best to find it:

"Trump says that he sent investigators to Hawaii to search for the president's birth certificate, and they're coming up empty handed."

But Donald Trump is about a lot more than the Obama birth certificate:

"Unless we get the oil, I have no interest in Libya," says Trump.

Here's a candidate who is willing to go on CNN and say - of COURSE it's about the oil! You don't get involved in a place like Libya to help a bunch of rebels you don't really know:

"We don't know who's being slaughtered," says Trump. "We cannot be the policemen for the world."

Yes we can't be the world's policeman.

He prefers the Genghis Khan model:

"In the old days when you had a war, when you won the war, you won. If they had oil, if they had diamonds, if they had gold - What's going to happen in Iraq is absolutely amazing, two minutes after we leave, Iran is going to take over the great oil fields of Iraq. If I'm president at the time, Iran is not taking over the Iraqi oil fields, we will."

The Trump Doctrine. Don't just occupy Iraq - colonize it.

I bet he'd also be the first president who instead of pardoning the Thanksgiving turkey, would just chop its head of right there on the South Lawn.

gross speculation? Even Libya admitted to it. It may not be why Obama went after it but Reagan would have, just like he did in 1986.

“Today, we have done what we had to do. If necessary, we shall do it again.” Reagan

[The Trump Doctrine. Don't just occupy Iraq - colonize it.]

When America won world war II, did not we take over Japan for a period of 20 years or so and implement the Marshall plan that resulted in Japan becoming a free and prosperous nation, though still regrettably pagan. We won, we helped them obtain freedom and then we left. Why should we fight and win a war and let the enemy become the leaders as we do now. Its just plain stupid and ignorant.

Yes originally we were supposed to get paid back for the expense of the war in discount oil. After awhile you didn’t hear anymore about it. It just died away and now the Oil contracts have gone to other countries who did little or nothing to heip. I’m with Trump. We need to stop being everyone’s patsy. Its not like they love us for it.

“...he’d also be the first president who instead of pardoning the Thanksgiving turkey, would just chop its head of right there on the South Lawn.”

If they put that on “Pay per View” I’d slap down $50 to see Tom get the axe from Trump.

You’re Gizzards!

The Republican party is now a Center Left leaning party. There are some great Republicans, but they are no longer the party of Ronald Reagan. They cave on everything, and quite frankly I’m sick of it!

Instead of Republicans vs. Democrats. I hope it becomes Tea Party vs. Republicans. Hopefully, people will have enough of Obama and the Democrats that they toss them out. Last November 100 of them got tossed out of office, but the Democrats act as if it never happened. Moreover, the Republicans (given another chance) don’t seem to want to come back to the right.

I love the fact that Trump has more guts than the rest of the Republican party candidates to call out Obama on his birth certificate. That alone tells me has guts unlike the rest of the candidates who are too chicken $hit to do it. I guess they fear being called “Racist”. PLus I love the way Trump handles the media. He is not intimidated or manhandled like Palin gets from time to time. I like her, but I just do not think she is ready for the big time. I would prefer to see Palin as the Republican Chairman. The ticket I hope to see is Trump/Bachmann against Obama. I would love it!

Well, we’ve occupied Afghanistan for almost a decade, and they are still beheading Christians and other infidels as if we aren’t even there. So I fail to see what possible benefit would come of our occupying Libya.

“There are 11 — that’s right 11 — automobiles being sold in Europe and the U.K. that are rated between 74 and 88 mpg. Only one is a hybrid — the Toyota Aruis at 74 mpg. Among this group of stellar performers was the Ford Fiesta in the No. 6 spot with a not-too-shabby 76 mpg. The Kia Rio — said to be slightly larger than the Fiesta — led the pack at 88 mpg with the Smart for two running a close second. Volvo, VW, Cooper, Fiat and other manufacturers had cars that were in the top 11.

Europe has gone in its own direction. While the U.S. government strongly subsidizes hybrid and electric technology, Europe has perfected diesel technology. Ten of the 11 European cars with the phenomenal mpg ratings are diesel. Every one of these cars is also prohibited by our laws from being imported into this country.

While I am not a Europhile, there is something absurd about whatever quirks in our environmental laws prevent cars in the U.S. from utilizing this technology. It seems outrageous on its face that a technology that meets strict European clean air standards — a technology that could double the mpg rating of a whole class of cars in the U.S. — is banned. Maybe, just maybe a little less ideology and a minor change in our environmental laws is warranted.”

she said she believed Obama was born in HA because of the newspaper announcement but she wants to know what Obama is not wanting to be seen.

Good comment. She's not accusing him of something specific so it cannot come back and bite her but she's curious why he's so secretive about something that really should be out in the open.

The Trump Doctrine. Don't just occupy Iraq - colonize it.

He also said he would not invade such countries unless it was put of national security.

And he did not consider Libya to be a national security issue.

He's talking about Iraq (after the fact - since we're already there)

He also said we should not have been bombing Libya in the first place. He said they are doing it for the oil and not for humanitarian reasons.

Basically, he's saying: if you're going to lie to the public and call it humanitarian why not just tell them the truth? It's for the oil! Just be honest with the American people why you're really there.

"I have no interest in Libya unless we're going to take their oil"

Reminds me of the media using McCain saying we’d be “in Iraq for a hundred years” against him for fear of him being a war monger.

John McCain supports Libyan War. Donald Trump does not and has not supported US involvement. I have a hunch we'd have been in Iran today and Saddam would still be in power under the restrictions and NFZ if a Donald Trump had been President.
