three Cornell researchers [looked at] whether we can determine who is a criminal by looking at his face.
Their finding: We can.
The researchers gathered head shots of Caucasian males, ages 20 to 29, put them all against a white background and controlled for attractiveness and display of facial emotion. Half were photos of convicts. The criminals were on their first conviction, had short hair and little to no facial hair. About half the criminals had been convicted of violent crimes (forcible rapes, murder, assault) and half for nonviolent crimes (forgery, theft, arson and drug dealing).
On a scale of one to seven, study participants rated how likely each man was to have committed a crime. If they thought a crime had been committed, they were asked to pick violent or nonviolent crimes and to specify which crime had taken place.
Valla said some people react with aversion when he describes the experiments, in part because it smacks of data abused by adherents of such discredited theories as Social Darwinism, eugenics, phrenology and the “born criminal” — a “subhuman species” with drooping eyes, large ears, protruding jaw and flat nose — which led to the sterilization of criminals.

It wouldn’t make sense for law enforcement agencies to hire and train as many “profilers” as they do if “profiling” DID NOT work.
I have a family member who owned a store. Even though less than 10% of the mall patrons were black, 80% of the shoplifter in her store were black.
She was a flaming libtard until she realized she would have to close her store to them, or risk losing 100% of her profits to theft.
Not to mention spending nearly all her free time in courts trying to prosecute, fighting judges who wanted to let them go.
She solved the problem by sticking VERY VIBIBLE security cameras in every open space, you could not stand anywhere without seeing at least 2 cams in your face, and forcing exiting traffic through a narrow exit- but she was totally frustrated by this FACT
She said the most heartbreaking were the parents who made their children do it.
Not news. I can easily spot the criminals whenever I head to Dodger stadium and see the La Raza crowd who beat the white man in the parking stadium.
Interesting. I also heard Fr. Malachi Martin, a retired Jesuit who wrote about evil, say that he could see evil in people's eyes. And the so-called "laws of attraction" say that we vibrate our particular energy - whether positive or negative - and thereby attract other people who are similarly inclined (not like magnetic energy where opposites attract).

Not only is this a good idea, it is a heck of a deterrent.
Violent criminals should be sterilized as a matter of course.
Instead, we provide stalls with brood mares for them - we call it "public housing" or "projects."
We've seen a lot of mug shots posted to FR, and invariably someone comments on the thug's "dead eyes". "soulless" "like a snake's", "sharklike"....That's how the eyes of career criminals come to look. I think that is likely what the photo viewers are picking up on...Something in the eye, or something that's NOT there.
Isn't restricting the study to males and Caucasians both sexist and racist?

The one on the right is the semi-token, dumb blond, half conservative, half valley girl and in her mind the "third half" she just wants to get along.

Most liberals remain liberals until they get mugged/harmed several times by the people they claim to love and give our tax money to.
I remember two classic examples about 15 years ago. There were two ultra liberal JINO MDs from NYC.
One was mugged in the Costco Parking lot in Vallejo, and his car with him was carjacked. Later, he was found duct taped in the trunk of his stripped down Mercedes. His attackers would have been Holder’s people.
The second liberal was rear ended by a tailgating pickup with a truck load of illegals. Another truck of illegals stopped and picked up the illegals from the disabled truck that hit the liberal. He got the c$$p beat out of him when he tried to protest. His car was totaled, and he spent a lot of time recovering from back injuries and other injuries.
Both became reasonably conservative independents after their “awakenings”!
Black males aged 14-55, the group most likely to commit a violent crime, are less than 4% of the total U.S. population.
I know.
My state has a population of 26% Blacks. Equals 86% of crimes commited. "
