Big ears? Urple lips?
FBI statistics show that Blacks commit 43% of all the crimes in the US. (They’re 12.9% of the population)
It wouldn’t make sense for law enforcement agencies to hire and train as many “profilers” as they do if “profiling” DID NOT work.
Not news. I can easily spot the criminals whenever I head to Dodger stadium and see the La Raza crowd who beat the white man in the parking stadium.
Interesting. I also heard Fr. Malachi Martin, a retired Jesuit who wrote about evil, say that he could see evil in people's eyes. And the so-called "laws of attraction" say that we vibrate our particular energy - whether positive or negative - and thereby attract other people who are similarly inclined (not like magnetic energy where opposites attract).
Not only is this a good idea, it is a heck of a deterrent.
Violent criminals should be sterilized as a matter of course.
Instead, we provide stalls with brood mares for them - we call it "public housing" or "projects."
Isn't restricting the study to males and Caucasians both sexist and racist?
“The researchers gathered head shots of Caucasian males, ages 20 to 29, put them all against a white background and controlled for attractiveness and display of facial emotion.”
No ethnics, of course, and CERTAINLY no Middle Easterners. THAT would be profiling.
Can you spot the criminal?
I have advocated on this forum the screening of passengers about to board planes by their fellow passengers. Have all passengers assemble at the gate 30 minutes before fight time with name tags on and ask them to mingle and talk to each other for 5 minutes. Passengers could then write down the name of any other passenger they think needs more thorough screening.
Much more effective and efficient than the stupid x-rays and body groping they now do.
I can pretty much guarantee the underwear bomber and shoe bomber would have been identified by this method, as well as the 9-11 teams. People have a sixth sense when people are up to no good - by there behavior even more than their appearance in a photograph.
Well now. Does this mean this study can be used as a defense if a person is arrested for killing someone, as in, “he needed killin’.
“...and controlled for attractiveness and display of facial emotion.”
This is a pity, because they could have learned much comparing ugly criminals and non-criminals. Often the assumption with ugly people is that ugliness is associated with crime, and even if not currently criminal, with *former* crime.
Likewise, facial expressions of emotion tell a lot as well.
There is also a problem with evaluating criminals, in that their countenance might have been altered because of being in prison.
Uh oh...crappy results alert. Wait for more studies on this before jumping on this one.
no black lineups?......now that would be more informative I think....
This the first time I have said ttiwwp and I wasn’t referring to babes.
Criminal types are also prolific breeders of future criminals. Sterilization should be condition of parole and early release of violent criminals.
Look for the predator in the eyes.
