A central Kansas family hopes to learn what caused the deaths of dozens of birds that fell from trees outside their house.
Elizabeth Stange says it started with one or two birds tumbling to the ground Thursday afternoon, followed by dozens more. The Sterling woman told KWCH-TV that the birds all died within minutes of each other.
By evening, Stange says, she and her family collected about 50 birds from their driveway and yard.
Stange says a local veterinarian told her the birds probably ate something poisonous. But a few were sent to Kansas State University for a closer look.
At one point, Stange's family worried about leaving the house for fear of being hit by a falling bird. She calls the episode bizarre.

Happened near my place a few weeks back, turns out farmers had permission to poison some birds out of their fields. They all flew and croaked in the middle of a Highway Median miles away.

I live up here in the People’s Republic of Massachusetts, and they tried a few years back to poison seagulls to reduce the population. They had dead seagulls dropping out of the sky like rain down on Old Cape Cod...:)

I think the pigs are responsible.
Me to, only meybe not from pigs, but methane gas escaping from someplace, same problem at the Bermuda trianle and other places, methane gas buble, no oxygen, can’t breath, can’t fly. Last winter a bunch of this events both here and in Europe, sometimes you hear of large fish kills for no obvious reason, I think same answer, never heard any official answers that make sence, but I have been thinking this for years

Someone on the thread suggested poisoning (pest-i-cide), and that would be my nest guess.
