Shes an above-average fundraiser (see the graph towards the bottom of the page here), an assiduously on-message interviewee, a rep from a crucial swing state, and of course a woman, which may help Democrats marginally with a key demographic. Oh, and shes also a heroine to Planned Parenthood, natch.
Congrats, Debbie. Now for your first lesson on messaging. Repeat after me: Republicans want to kill grandma.
She would be the first woman to serve as the permanent head of the committee in a presidential election year, party officials said. At least two women have served short stints in the position, but were temporary chairwomen.
Ms. Wasserman Schultz, 44, is known for her strong fund-raising abilities, party officials said, and would become one of the few high-profile woman surrogates on television for the president. She first gained national attention during the Florida recount in 2000, when she was a state legislator, and has been a rising figure in the party over the last decade.
Former Governor Ted Strickland of Ohio was among the finalists for the position, party officials said, along with a handful of other former Democratic governors. Shes replacing Tim Kaine, wholl spend next year accusing George Allen of wanting to kill grandma. I was going to celebrate her appointment by reposting the video from February of her objecting on the House floor to the term ObamaCare for being disparaging, but in honor of Ryanpalooza, lets go with this one instead from last September. The Democrats need people who are expert in scaring seniors, and they dont come more expert than liberals from Florida. Good call, Barry.

She does perfectly represent the Democratic Party base, in much the same way Dean did. Air-headed liberals with a belief in socialism and unicorns.
BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well...she is more manly than Howard Dean.
BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!! Oh, my spleen!! Stop it!!! I mean it! ;-) :-)
Best news for the GOP in a long time.
Bella Absug on steroids.
Holy crap! I actually yelled out when I saw the photo.
I don’t have words to describe her except Hillary is a beauty queen compared to this thing. Is it really a woman?
That’s what I was thinking. She looks like Chelsea’s demented twin that escaped from the attic.
Lovely! So they’re putting this shrill harpy out as their “best face forward” going into 2012.
Yes, the Democrats are certainly in touch with what the American voter wants. Certainly.
As I believe you know, that would have been missing the point. Emanuel, who I believe is also Jewish, is no different in his philosophy from Josef Mengele in too many frightening aspects. I appreciate your understanding.
“It really is belittling of the respect that we should have for these groups to suggest that members of the armed services have somehow systematically been the victims of hate crimes.”
Shooting down 42 soldiers and shouting “Allahu Akbar!” at Fort Hood doesn’t count in Debbie’s world view.
I completely agree with you. They have also turned Mother’s Day into Breast Cancer Day, at least here. They also don’t care that LUNG cancer kills more women, but since men get it too, they don’t support it. It is all agenda-driven, and I despise it.
I agree.
The only hate crime against soldiers,in her warped mind, will be when the "openly gay" soldiers aren't allowed to wear rainbow patches on their uniforms!
“What’s up with the greasy bacon hair?”
—————it’s the new “Wet Look”, so highly prized by
today’s crew of female Dem Party hacks ‘on the way up’.
Imagine what it would look like on Big Sis Napolitano, who actually DOES ALREADY look like a football player.
That's a good point.
As far as the border and Giffords, don't get me started. Actions speak louder than words. She was just doing the usual political maneuvering around election time, the only time she was all of a sudden interested in representing the U.S. vs. Mexico. An election in which she just barely scraped by, after a week of counting ballots and all of the early (unverified) ballots arriving.
