Every commander executing a plan that he considers bad or disastrous is criminal. He must point out the flaws, insist that it be changed and at last resort resign rather than be the instrument of the destruction of his own men.
-- Napoleon
Even we didn't think that the repeal of "Don't Ask Don't Tell" (DADT) would lead to anything like this so quickly.
How can even the US Marines be fully on board? Many of you may have seen this recent official announcement video by the Marine Corps on how they intend to do their best to integrate homosexuality into their units.
It's truly mind-numbing watching the commanders of America's armed forces cave in to an immediate and thorough large-scale indoctrination into the destructive tentacles of homosexuality. It's hard to figure out whether they actually believe this, or they're selling their souls. In the end it doesn't matter. They are helping destroy the US military as we know it.
What do you suppose Napoleon (or General Patton) would say about all this?

I also suspect that gays will be steered towards REMF MOS's (how appropriate), and that they'll try to keep them out of the combat arms.
In Romans chapter 1, the Bible condemns both female and male homosexual behavior.
I hope you don't mind if I stick with "Kick-Ass Warrior".

They will deal with this like they have dealt with stupid decisions by politicians since the time of their formation, at the time of the American Revolution.
I suppose one could say we are “soldiers of the sea” if they want to stretch it that far. However, as a retired Marine, I do mind being referred to as a soldier. I am a Marine. To me soldiers always denotes Army service which is just fine but I was not Army.I have a friend who was in the Corps with me, when her contract was up she went into the first civ div...then a few years later, into the Army and she retired as a LtCol. She too was proud of her Marine Corps time and in her Army office
she displayed her Marine plaque, the flag set etc and trust me, no one messed with her! To this day she is more proud of her Marine time than the Army stints....( and to hear her tell it, while she was on active duty in the Army she tells me former Marines now in the Army could be picked out in a heart beat. It was always about bearing.) To each their own...but I will correct those who call me a soldier and simply say I am a retired Marine..
It’s disgusting.
I should add one other thing..often we Marines make the mistake of calling our junior personnel “troops”. I have heard more than once a this statement corrected by a SGTMAJ or CWO..reminding others that they are not toops, they are Marines. Troops are in the Army.
This is not a slam against anyone who has served in the Army..they are strong fighters too..it is just a matter of who we are and the distinction we earned.
That is correct and it is interesting to note that while one is in boot camp, he or she is called RECRUIT...they are not called MARINE until they graduate..
yeah, they'll be harmless. Probably be in HQ, communications, intel, supply, finance, legal, combat support.... what could possibly go wrong with having a Marine with gender identification issues, poor impulse control and open to blackmail, or lover's spats have to offer the Corps.
Get an officer that has a favorite "friend" and just imagine what a unit will turn into when it becomes a little pink fiefdom. Young men open to blackmail, legal hardball in order to protect favorites and ,God forbid, you have bunk buddies in a forward unit and one is in charge, who pulls point? Who's the first in the door to clear a room? Who rides 2nd vehicle in a convoy? Who does route clearance or rides the turret?
The Corps will live forever. The butt munchers and maggots like Murtha never were Marines. They were just along for the ride and never committed heart and soul to Corps.
They'll never know or understand what the Corps is all about. America's Warriors.... period...that's what they do, that's what they train for, that's all that it should be about... not about who gets the procurement job after they retire, how close to the O-club their parking space is, how nice they look dressed up and going to the parties at HQ or DC.
It sucks but after you're done, you love it and know that others are jealous of what you represent and what other Marines have done in the past.
too bad Dan Rather and Hillary Clinton never joined the Corps like they said they wanted to.... it might have straightened up their brain housing group, but I doubt it.
No...that would be awesome. :-)
Just to be clear, I think this is a terrible policy. However, I do have to say that I’m pretty sure the best corpsman I ever had was gay. He was kind of like the platoon nurse.
It's a distraction from the main mission of the Marine Corps. Protect the country, be the point of the spear and hold yourself in a manner that is honorable to the Corps, your country and yourself.

Great, great point. If there was someone who was gay and didn’t advertise it, was discrete, etc., it would never become an issue at all. The problem with this policy is that there is no longer a reason to do that.
