NEW YORK (AP) -- The city's subway riders can handle panhandlers, rats and tuneless street musicians. But eating spaghetti in a crowded subway car? Well, that's just going too far.
An Internet video that shows New Yorkers brawling over a passenger's right to nosh noodles on the subway has ignited a debate about what people should and shouldn't do in the nation's largest mass transit system.

Funny stuff going on in NYC. Read the whole article.
AP has to print stories like this. It keeps AP from having to cover the real stories of our failed president.
Flying Spagetti Monster when the train stops ...
Lordy...this is insane...Me, I wouldn’t mind..Some people have to eat on the run, and if they clean up after themselves, then there’s no issue...trouble is when they don’t.
New Yuk reverts to its old self.
Why would anyone get upset with soeone else eating? Did they ever consider that they might need to eat? A ban on eating would mean that someone with diabetes could very well be in a dangrous consition by the time they were ble to get off of the train and be unable to take care of themselves.

There is not enough money in New York City to get me to live there.
Because people are pigs and don’t clean up after themselves...here in Philly the cops police the subways and throw people off for eating....As Jerry Seinfeld used to say - “we are trying to have a civilization here” !!
There’s not enough money in NYC to run the city.
Why don't people eat soup, salad, pizza in the theater? Because spills happen. Then you, wearing your suit, through no fault of your own, have food spills all over your clothes - now add the mice, flies and rats that will happily follow the mess. When you are standing in a subway that starts and stops abruptly - do you want a lap full of somebody's meal?
There are rules, and the rules state that you can eat before you get on the subway, you are free to eat after you get off the subway. But, out of consideration for fellow passengers, you may not eat on the subway. That's why.
Stupid. Just mind your own business for pete’s sake. Our population is now comprised of millions of Gladys Cravitzs on steroids.
I was listening to the news yesterday and there was a story about some woman whose toddler apparently was crushed to death after a piece of furniture tilted over on him. Well the mother gave the obligatory interview about how terrible it is that “no one tells you these things can happen”, “I was a new mother and “didn’t know” what to watch out for” etc etc. She is now on a quest to get laws enacted. (another madd only this time it will be maf = mothers against furniture) Oh and did I mention she had a heavy spanish accent?
The answer? (I kid you not) It is being recommended to bolt furniture to the walls: including T.Vs; chests etc etc
John Rocker spent about 30 seconds of his life rendering perhaps the most concise, spot-on description of NYC that’s ever been uttered, and then spent the rest of his career apologizing for it.
After 60+ years of watching DemocRATS and Republicans I have to say that the answer is "yes". RATs enthusiastically regulate everything and Pubbies reluctantly regulate most everything and the result is the same either way. Never forget that some of the greatest expansions of the welfare state occurred under Pubbie Presidents. BushI & II, I'm talking about you.
OK, I'll read the article now... ;-)
I don’t want anyone eating near me on the subway; it’s not disgusting, I just don’t want it on me when the train stops abruptly.
Because some people are self-righteous control freaks who have a pathological need to get involved with things that they don't consider acceptable behavior.
So bring a granola bar, bag of peanuts, or something else not likely to make a mess on other people's clothing if it spills.
I’m so glad they didn’t have to brang Amber Lamps.
