A Chicago-area atheist is on a crusade to have a high school science teacher fired for teaching creationism in his classroom.
It has nothing to be dissatisfied, atheist activist Rob Sherman told the Chicago Tribune. Im protecting conquered territory and assisting parents who want the teacher fired by articulating their concerns.

there is the claim made that the ‘supreme court’ made teaching creationism ‘illegal’
is this true?
imo, a science teacher should provide all reasons for our existence, not just slime-based ones and not just primate-based ones.
What do you want to bet this school has a ‘gay studies’ course?
I wonder what his position is on open immigration, the border fence, English-only, Sharia courts, and multi-culturalism in general.
Your reasoning is faulty. There are always two parts to a theory, the theory itself and the proof of the theory. As an example the theory of gravity is proved by the simple expedient of dropping something and watching it fall, when this happens the theory of gravity becomes fact. When the first aircraft, not the Wright flyer but the many non-powered gliders before that, actually used it's wings to create lift and soared through the air, it proved the theory of flight and it became a fact, one that is proved every day of our lives. Neither evolution or creationism have been proved, they are both theories and one is as valid to be taught in a class as another. Evolution has many liars claims in an attempt to prove it but so far they are all failures. Creationism has also not been proved.
Both theories have their champions that claim they are facts, evolutionists lie about this all the time as if stating it is a proven fact actually makes it so. Creationist also claim that their theory is a fact, but claiming it does not make it so.
One major difference between the two theories is that the fossil record actually disproves evolution(as defined by Darwin)where as there is nothing that disproves Creationism.
No further discussion of this subject is desired.
Ignore K-Stater; he is a known troll.
“And yes, it IS a LIE to teach theory as fact. It is only a theory, and thats the only way that science can ever improve, is by not accepting concensus and settled science just because someone says so.”
Like Global warming? (just another example of hypocracy from the left)
Hey K-Stater....
JDW put you on the money. There is nothing about evolution that adheres to the scientific method.
How many fruit flies do they have to radiate to find out that what they end up with are fruit flies, damaged fruit flies and dead fruit flies?
The theory of evolution, if true, would violate the following laws of nature:
Law of Biogenesis
Law of Cause and Effect
Law of the Conservation of Matter
1st Law of Thermodynamics
2nd Law of Thermodynamics
It also flies in the face of Information Theory. What is observed in Science Labs is that no new genetic information is added by mutation... and since natural selection can only select from traits that already exist, there is no known mechanism that would take a “magic cell” that made itself in a mud puddle and turn it into an amoeba, much less a human being.
The theory of evolution is a story that attempts to come up with a way to figure out how we got here without a creator.
Thats all it is.... a story. It belongs in philosophy class, not science class.
I believe I see Fibonacci numbers in your handle.....
Darn. Because your post was very amusing; I'd hoped for more.
You see more than I see then! I chose my handle because a) I am an engineer, and b) I grew up in the back woods, and hope to escape this godforsaken suburb one day and return.
And your reasoning is not only wrong, it is in error. Just because we call it science does not make it science, and just because we call it a theory does not make it a theory.
Actually, the Holy Scriptures says: “Let God be true, and all men be liers.
You & I both will like: “O Timothy, keep that which is committed to thy trust, avoiding profane and vain babblings, and oppositions of science falsely so called.” (1 Timothy 6:20)
Another is in Revelation 3:1b; “I know thy works, that thou hast a name that thou livest, and art dead.”
And another: “Come now, and let us reason together saith the LORD,..... (Isaiah 1:18a)
Creation itself is proof that there is a designer, and His beautiful creation was perfect at the beginning, but it has not evolved, but degenerated year by year.
Also: “By the Word of the LORD were the heavens made; and all the host of them by the breath of His mouth.” (Psalm 33:6)
Yes, If I’m in error, I’ll choose: “The heavens declare the glory od God, and the firmament sheweth His handiwork.”(Psalm 19:1)
Sorry I did not see your final note, until I had made my final notes!
That is why you haven't been poisoned by magical religious nonsense.
Logic and reason are anathema to all religions; they control their loser adherents by telling them they are special if they belong to this or that religious cult. Unfortunately, no one else will tell them they are special so what's not to like for them.
Thank goodness most of the world are now shedding this infantile nonsense.
Oh! In case wintertime thinks that it was:
"The government school was successful in teaching you to think godlessly."
In my early years, although not a Catholic, I lived in a convent and was brought up by the nuns; brought up in the belly of the beast as it were.
I loved the nuns, I thought they smelled great and they all loved me. I am sure they thought I was the second coming as on my first day in the school room there - sitting next to a nun on a table smelling her purity or carbolic soap - I answered a question the older girls could not.
I was a six years old boy, loved maps and geography and could draw a map of the world at that time. The young nun was quizzing the older girls on the capitals of countries - when she asked them the capital of Madagascar, no one knew so I blurted out that it was Antananarivo.
From that moment I was golden - lol
There are those that need the comfort of religion and then there are those that just love the joy of living in the real world of sunlight, color and beauty, leaving the morbid medieval dark world view of sin, corruption and the stink of their imagined hell fires. From such a world if it really existed, except in the conditioned mind of a believer, one would really need salvation pronto.
Religion is not the poison. Pride is the poison that turns it from tool to weapon.
Pride can bolster or consume one but religion is always the WMD for societies.
Pride can bolster or consume one but religion is always the WMD for societies.
“I believe I see Fibonacci numbers in your handle.....”
I believe he or she is referring to my handle, and that would be correct! : D
On the top of the main page, in bold red reads:
“Welcome to Free Republic! America’s exclusive site for God, Family, Country, Life & Liberty constitutional conservative activists!”
Yet this drivel:
“That is why you haven’t been poisoned by magical religious nonsense.
Logic and reason are anathema to all religions; they control their loser adherents by telling them they are special if they belong to this or that religious cult.”
Is this not considered trolling the boards?
Ah yes, the old “affirming the consequent,” fallacy, almost as effective as the strawman.
Reflecting on this:
“Evolution ‘predicts’ change. Change is observed, therefore evolution is ‘true’.”
Change is so broad, hence “climate change.” It’s one of the only constants in the Universe, “Stuff changes.”
I'd say it probably is. Whatever you want to call it, I wouldn't miss it if it was gone.
The money quote:
“How many fruit flies do they have to radiate to find out that what they end up with are fruit flies, damaged fruit flies and dead fruit flies?”
Thanks for the thoughtful, insightful post. It gave me some things to think about.
Me too. I believe in intellectual debate, but coming to a site that says it is first and foremost a site for God, it seems like calling religion “magical nonsense” and the faithful, “loser adherents” would be a little anathema to the principles of the site. Just my thought...
