Brotherhood the victor in Egyptian referendum

March 21, 2011 Brotherhood the victor in Egyptian referendum

Rick Moran

A referendum in Egypt on changes to the constitution brought a record turnout to the polls and a victory for both the Muslim Brotherhood and deposed president Hosni Mubarak's political party. The referendum carried by a 77-23 margin and will bring on quick elections for parliament in June and a presidential election in August.

The secularists were routed.

New York Times:

The Muslim Brotherhood and remnant elements of the National Democratic Party, which dominated Egyptian politics for decades, were the main supporters of the referendum. They argued the election timetable would insure a swift return to civilian rule.

Members of the liberal wing of Egyptian politics mostly opposed the measure, saying they lacked time to organize into effective political organizations. They said early elections will benefit the Brotherhood and the old ruling party, which they warned would seek to write a constitution that centralizes power much like the old one.

Voters were asked to either accept or reject eight constitutional amendments as a whole - all of them designed to establish the foundations for upcoming elections. Most addressed some of the worst excesses of previous years - limiting the president to two four-year terms, for example, to avoid another president staying in office as long as Mr. Mubarak. The amendments were announced on Feb. 25 after virtually no public discussion by an 11-member committee of experts chosen by the military.

"It is very, very disappointing," said Hani Shukrallah, who is active in a new liberal political party and is the editor of Ahram Online, a news Website.

He and many other opponents of the referendum said religious organizations had spread false rumors, suggesting that voting against the referendum would threaten Article 2 of the constitution, which cites Islamic law as the main basis for Egyptian law.

"I saw one sign that said, ‘If you vote no you are a follower of America and Baradei and if you vote yes you are a follower of God,'" he said. "The idea is that Muslims will vote yes and Copts and atheists will vote no."

No word yet from the Obama administration who are probably the only people in America surprised at this outcome. The Brotherhood flexed their muscles and showed just how much influence they have. The small group of liberals, overwhelmed by the Islamists, better get organized in a hurry or the worst case scenario involving Egypt will come to pass.

Surprised my left butt cheek. Barry wanted to hand Egypt over to the Muslim Brotherhood and that's exactly the reason he's in Lybia as well.

Regards

Well, for everyone that says Obama’s not a muslim, he’s pushing for a radical Muslim caliphate as hard as he can.

In the future, he will be remembered as the most disastrous president in American history.

That’s if we all still have our heads.

Now all we need to do is figure out which way is faster by ship, around the entire continent of Africa or eastward toward the Pacific ocean.

We are being setup across the board.

Libya next. Gulf States.

The US and EU are helping rebuild the Caliphate.

The smart question is WHY? (If you can ask that question given the suppositions, you already know the answer.)

No peeps about Unconstitutional wars, either, huh? Nothing? Bush II at least had a congressional resolution, which is arguably authority.

EU, Arab league and France decide they want the US to attack, and we do? That quickly?

One would think it was preplanned, no? Much easier if you're working from a script. (Oh dear, that gives the insinuation that this is fake.)

Wonder who published this book. And when?

Well, for everyone that says Obama’s not a muslim, he’s pushing for a radical Muslim caliphate as hard as he can.

--------------------------

Spot on!

This has a direct effect here as well...

The Muslim Brotherhood explained in an internal memorandum that their work in the United States was as a 'grand jihad in eliminating and destroying the Western civilization from within.' The Brotherhood said its tactic would be 'sabotage.'

The 1991 memorandum elaborates that every city should have an 'axis' and 'perimeter' from which this jihad-by-sabotage strategy is headquartered. That axis will be known as 'the Islamic Center.' Islamic centers are to become 'the 'base' for our rise, the memo says. They are to be the focal point of education, preparation, and the 'supply of our battalions.' Battalions are small cells of fighters. In Muslim Brotherhood ideology it is assumed that, at a certain mature point, when Muslim forces are strong enough, violent jihad will be effective. And Islamists prepare for it. Sheikh Yusuf Qaradawi, the spiritual guide of the Muslim Brotherhood, has proclaimed that 'dawa', the stealth form of jihad, is the method by which Islam will 'conquer America' and 'conquer Europe.'

The Saudis have been underwriting the Brotherhood's dawa efforts for decades.

Barry must be thrilled.

Can we try to simplify the situation a bit?

. . .[ISLAMIC]religious organizations had spread false rumors, suggesting that voting against the referendum would threaten Article 2 of the constitution, which cites Islamic law as the main basis for Egyptian law.

"I saw one sign that said, ‘If you vote no you are a follower of [SATAN] America and Baradei and if you vote yes you are a follower of[ALLAH] God,'" he said.

"The idea is that Muslims will vote yes and [INFIDELS] Copts and atheists will vote no."

No word yet from the Obama administration . . . .

K'Daffy was not Muslim enough for Obama...and he wasn't threatening Israel every other day, hence the need for enforced change and a new red [Islamic] dawn for the desert country--MinuteGal

I had quite a few folks angry with me for opposing the unrest in Egypt. Looks like they’re about to grasp why.

The Muslim Brotherhood’s stock is rising folks. Iran has already displayed their pleasure about this.

I predicted something like a United States of Iran in the Middle-East, a loose configured setup that would see close coordination across nation state lines.

Here it comes...

Iran’s version of Democracy is stretching out across the Middle-East.

Let’s hear it for the freedom fighters... /s tightening their web one nation at a time.

“Well, for everyone that says Obama’s not a muslim, he’s pushing for a radical Muslim caliphate as hard as he can.”

Obama is a liberal. Liberals believe in the inevitable global victory of Liberalism over the forces of reaction.

“The Reaction” is defined as those who defend traditional western civilization. Liberals hate the Reaction passionately.

Islam, on the other hand, is either viewed with sympathetic contempt (when Islamic thought runs counter to Liberalism) or with warm sympathy, when Islamic thought is attacked by the Reaction, or more accurately, when Islam attacks traditional western values and institutions.

Hence, Liberals will complain in a non-hateful and understanding fashion when Islam conflicts with Liberalism (women´s rights, gay rights, democracy), but will passionately attack opponents of Islam when they (”The Reaction) seek to defend the west from Islamic encroachment (immigration, WTC mosque, etc.).

The end game is $10 a gallon gas and jihadi subhumans in charge of not just Afghanistan but every government in the mideast and North Africa.

This basketball and vacation addicted communist asshole and his anti-oil comrades in his administration have set us back 100 years in mideast forign policy and has set the stage for WWIII , putting terrorist governments in charge of all of the oil producing states.

The only obvious solution should he steal the WH in 2012 are massive demonstrations by real Americans in DC until he and his fellow marxist crooks are forced to leave.

Maybe we can get the Brits to help out with a no fly zone over DC.
