I just watched the news. US ships are firing at Libya. I was out fishing this morning, so I missed the early reports. Did we declare war on Libya? Article 1, Section 8 of the Constitution grants Congress the exclusive power to declare war, so that's what happened...right?

The US is party to more treaties than the NATO-related ones. We are, for example, a permanent member of the UN Security Council.
Oh, I forgot to mention that when a Republican does it, there is talk of congressional hearings and impeachment motions.

My concern is whether we have the capability to
replace the missiles we just wasted on Libya. They
weren’t fired defending the US from an enemy.
If we can’t replace them, we have reduced our
capacity to defend the country against an actual
enemy. Are the manufacturing facilities still in
business?
