In Sit Room, Obama ruled out troops

While demurring that he really didn't want to say what went on in the closed Situation Room meeting at the White House today, Rep. Mike Rogers, a Michigan Republican, went on Fox News shortly after and pretty much told the story. For that we thank him.

President Obama spoke first, then Secretary of State Hillary Clinton "outlined the situation," Rogers said.

Adm. Mike Mullen, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, gave some military particulars, followed by Defense Secretary Robert Gates, "who just kind of laid out what the options were and what the possibilities were and where we were today," the lawmaker said.

"I think everyone was in support of it," Rogers said. "I think Senator Lugar had some questions."

There was a distinct lack of support in the room for ground troops -- a prospect Obama preemptively ruled out, Rogers said.

One - Obama is a coward.

Would he be "brave" if he sent our soldiers into Libya?

Though, I agree with Zero on this one, not sending boots on the ground, I'm sure his motivation was completely different than most Americans.

His decision was purely political and certainly about HIS political future and the political fallout for the 2012 run at kingship, he could give a damn about our troops.

I'm sure in his mind they are simply fodder to help him move his political ambitions forward.

Just look at his fellow traveler

Today, yes... but any bets that'll be revisited in short order when the "no-fly zone" doesn't achieve whatever its murky objective happens to be?

While we're in the business of "no-fly zones," hey... let's spin them up over Iran as well. We're all about how we "look," right?

Yeah, kind of "Convenient" that we pulled our Carrier Task Force from the Med isn't it, so now we have an excuse not to participate in smacking Daffy Qadafi?

I'd love to know who made that decision???

Obama is late, because he is a coward, passive, and a political groomer.

Genecide is unhealthy for the victims, and to sit on curbs watching on is not cool when you’re the USA.

“is not cool when you’re the USA”

Ah, but it IS cool to make sure the USA looks ridiculous, weak, indecisive, non-committal.......in short, when you have as your SOLE OBJECTIVE the GOAL of a-b-s-o-ph-u-c-k-i-n-g-l-u-t-e-l-y destroying the United States of America.

0bama may think himself and may secretly be the de facto leader of the UN, but of American troops? (Cough).

No. He would be a fool. We don't have any business in this situation. Choosing either side is wrong.
