Sandra Bullock donates $1 million for Japan relief
The Scoop ^ | 3-17-11

dra Bullock has donated $1 million to the Red Cross for Japan disaster relief, her rep confirms to Scoop. While other celebrities have made various gestures to encourage donation and raise money, this is the largest known donation made by a celebrity since the 9.0 magnitude earthquake, tsunami and nuclear crisis.

This isn't the first time that Bullock has risen to the occasion charitably. She was honored for her contributions in rebuilding a New Orleans public school after Hurricane Katrina and last year donated $1 million for earthquake victims in Haiti.

Pelosi one of the richest women in this country?

Which still goes to show you money can’t buy you brains.
And, yes, where’s the money, Pelosi? After all, your friend Michael Moore says it doesn’t belong to you anyway so cough it up!

To go even further off the topic, but I wonder how this (apparently*) Jewish woman could have ever been married to a neo-Nazi.

* I saw apparently, in that she has never expressed her religious views, but gave her adopted child a real bris, with a mohel, the whole deal, sealing him to the Mt. Sinai covenant. A mohel would be unlikely to do this for a non-Jewish mother.

Good for her! Too many celebrities just show up at a fundraiser, and expect their presence to be their own donation.

Yeah. Where are the super rich dems and republicans, the one's who determine how OUR MONEY gets wasted and the ones who put their fellow countrymen into this debt mess.

What are they doing to get us out of debt without punishing us with more?

It is, in the END their policies that have taken to this brink.

The least they could do is lead by example and give PERSONNALLY to the crisis and need in Japan.

After all-they use our money with abandon when they are supposed to be STEWARDS of the money they take from money each of us work to earn.

What is wrong with these people. I agree.

Where are Pelosi and Kerry and Blumenthal and 'Rockefeller' and other wealthy elected officials on their giving to Japan. Is it because there is no tax deduction involved that they hang tight to their own cash?

She deviates from true Liberalism (Socialism) in that she gives her own money, not O.P. (other peoples’s).

I love Sandra Bullock—she’s not only a very enjoyable actress, she’s also a patriot.

I wasn't aware that she's Jewish, but it's possible that even though she may not be Jewish, if the adopted son's birth mother was Jewish, Sandra may have had the bris done out of respect to that culture and faith.

Sandra Bullock is one of my favorite actresses. She's done such a range of parts, and I like both the dramatic and comedic ones. We watched part of Demolition Man, last night, and she's so funny in it.

Many millions will be donated by persons whose names no one will never know.
If you have the means and desire, then you give.
The only reason to make it public it is to encourage others to do it, too.
Let’s see if she causes anyone else to step up to the plate.
