Entirely appropriate course of action.

Another fob to the major stockholders in oil companies, and another kick in the nuts for the American middle class.

Wow, then is Salazar going to shut down those too when they find that some guy’s boot has a little radiation on it?

How can we believe anything the POTUS says?
I don't listen to him anymore. To me he is President Mute.

Finally he is doing something. He probably should have asked this early in the week but I guess Thursday is better than never.
To: Scythian
There goes that industry.
I thought it was rather transparent of him to include nuclear power in the power producing mix, then announce a full review in almost the same breath.
What’s the book on how many plants remain operating two years from now?

I would expect the nuclear energy companies would already be in the midst of reviewing and taking necessary preventative action.
Back in the good ol days we didn't wait to be told by some corporate guy who knew nothing about the operation to tell us what we knew already.

Did it occur to our government of Ivy League geniuses that the people who designed and built these reactors anticipated making them secure in the event of natural disasters???

Obummer is on the record of supporting nuclear energy expansion while nixing drilling for oil. He made his bed and now he is turning over the mattress so to speak. This guy is such a loser!

“....to ensure they can withstand earthquakes”
He does understand that the damage was not caused by the earthquake, right? It was the wave that knocked out the power, destroyed generators, etc.
We already know exactly what magnitude earthquake each plant is designed for, and we already have predictions for how large an earthquake we can expect in each region. The ‘study’ would take around 15 minutes....unless this is all just a cynical attempt to halt nuke power in this country :)

If Zero runs true to form, he'll have Salazar or some other flunky order
all nuke plants shut down pending the review. Then he'll drag his feet.
Just as with the deep-water oil rigs in the Gulf.
