BERLIN, March 10 (UPI) -- A Swiss journalist said a crystal skull believed to have belonged to Nazi SS chief Heinrich Himmler was found hidden in a German home.
Journalist Luc Burgin said the skull, found hidden on a roof beam in the home of a woman who was once married to a high-ranking SS officer, appears to be one of a series of skulls revered by the Mayans in ancient Mexico, The Daily Mirror reported Thursday.
Himmler, who committed suicide after being captured by British troops during World War II, was well-known to have been fascinated by myths and legends during his tenure as one of the highest ranking Nazis under Adolf Hitler.
Burgin said the skull, which weighs about 20 pounds, is similar in appearance to the death's head on the uniforms of Himmler's men.
"I am 99 percent sure that this is one of the skulls of the Mayans, but we need clarity and all available tests will be carried out to ascertain authenticity," Burgin said.

Beowulf9:
I hope they find my left glass eye. I lost it in the South Pacific during WWII. I sure miss it as the right one is in backwards and I cannot see anything but the back of my head.
The very best to you and yours.

The death's head SS insignia came from the Kaiser's cavalry. But it is clear that the nazi ideology was heavy with pagan symbolism. The double "lightning strikes" which were also an SS insignia were not lightning strikes at all but nordic runes.

Fascinating.
The Mayans believed that after a Great Flood destroyed Atlantis, the survivors wished to preserve their wisdom. They shaped thirteen crystal skulls; nine were coloured and represented the races of men and four were as clear as glass to represent ``the beasts that walk, crawl, slide and fly."

Like everything else associated with Nazis, the skulls are bogus. They were made in the 1800s for sale to a credulous public. Nothing Mayan about them.
Of course, they are probably still being made. No doubt in China....

Thanks Fiddlstix.Burgin said the skull, which weighs about 20 pounds, is similar in appearance to the death's head on the uniforms of Himmler's men. Those bastards were creepy. Himmler was creepier than Hitler, because he didn't show emotion, other than the occasional smirk. Heydrich was even creepier than Himmler, but drove Himmler up the wall with his endless questions and requests for clarifications, which were his way of questioning his orders. Heydrich never thought his orders went far enough.
Just adding to the catalog, not sending a general distribution.
