Arianna Huffington scoffed at a group of unpaid Huffington Post contributors that announced on Wednesday they would stop contributing content to the site, weeks after its $315 million sale to AOL was announced.
Huffington, speaking alongside AOL chief Tim Armstrong at PaidContents 2011 Conference in New York on Thursday, dismissed the notion that all bloggers should be paid, given the wide platform HuffPo gives them.
She argued that blogging on the Huffington Post is equivalent to going on Rachel Maddow, Jon Stewart or the Today show to promote their ideas.
And, she said, there are plenty of people willing to take their place if they do.
The idea of going on strike when no one really notices, Huffington said. Go ahead, go on strike.

Oddly, I agree with Arianna on this one.
unions are great aren’t they AH?
That is until it affects you and the amount of money you make but do not worry as the dopes on the loon left will still not understand what is going on as they’re too stupid to understand.
She’s right. ......
A few less leftists tinkling in the pool of discourse won’ t make much difference, one way or the other.
I have admiration for anyone who has the patience or luck to decipher whatever Arianna Huffington is saying.
Suckers!
I have a feeling that AOL doesn't care about the 'current' and 'past' contributors, and is planning on substituting their own.
Some of them may even be real people.
What’s this leftwing bloggers want to get paid... want to make a ‘profit’ say it aint so.. why are they not happy with Zsa Zsa spreading their wealth around :)
She’s made hundreds of millions off their backs while they “toiled” for no pay and it took a newspaper story for them to realize that she was using them? Yeah, that’s the kind of brain trust we should all be taking advice from.
They don’t call them useful idiots for nothing
Allow me to translate:
"Screw you. I'm rich."
Liberals need their daily dose of talking points like "Palin is dumb" and "Teabaggers are racists", otherwise they quickly lose their ability to have intellectual conversation among themselves.
Yeah, and I’m sure there are plenty of people available and willing to take up all those Union jobs in Wisconsin too.
It should inspire the readers to boycott her website and at the same time the writers can start a competing alternative website. Unfortunately she is laughing all the way to the bank but AOL should be made to pay for paying her that money in the first place.
Zsa Zsa is exploiting her workers. If she’s made millions off the content, then she should payer her workers.
Posting should be free. Not content.
Just for the record, I was banned for life after my first post on Huff Po and I didn’t even swear.
Yep, just look at the Huffington Post. It's not exactly Reader's Digest or Popular Mechanics or even Ranger Rick's Nature Magazine if you know what I mean. Plus it really doesn't exactly take a lot of brain power just to parrot the Liberal talking points over & over.
So I'm sure there are 1000s of unemployed kids fresh out of college who would gladly step up and I doubt there will be any noticeable difference in quality or credibility.
Remember their original lead reporter was a women so crazy and bat§¶¡+ insane she ended up stabbing her lesbian "Wife" 222 times with a Philips head screwdriver and then hid the body in the trunk of her Mercedes and then killed herself several days later. Compared to that an unemployed recent grad isn't exactly that big of a step down.
As for compensation, they will just tell them that writing for the Huffington Post will be a good resume builder and after a few articles a "prestigious" career in journalism awaits you with the NYTimes or such. They will likely still be living home with Mommy and Daddy so money won't matter compared to all the "Experience" they believe they will be gaining.
That's why they call them useful idiots
Liberals are such suckers and fools.
