Jane Russell, the brunette bombshell of the films Mad Men and Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, whose image became a popular pinup for World War II servicemen, passed away of respiratory failure at her Santa Monica home Monday.

The CareNet folks (a Protestant organization, I will note) are great people doing great things.

Our state Knights of Columbus Council gave one of their crisis pregnancy centers in southern Maryland a new sonogram machine.

“...when she found herself pregnant...”

It was like a miracle.

But credit to her for her conversion.

RIP

Russell was one of the most sensuous and beautiful women Hollywood’s ever known.

May God rest her soul.

I had no idea she was such an outspoken Pro-Life advocate.
She had totally dropped off the radar after doing those Cross Your Heart bra commercials back in the 70’s.

The media sure did their job throwing the bushel basket over her.

Leading a wild lifestyle early on, Russell later became, in her words, “a teetotal, mean-spirited, right-wing, narrow-minded, conservative Christian bigot” - but not before an illegal abortion caused her to lose her fertility.

The experience, which she says nearly killed her, led her to become outspoken about abortion, denying that any circumstance - rape or incest included - justified taking the life of an unborn child.

“People should never, ever have an abortion. Don’t talk to me about it being a woman’s right to choose what she does with her own body. The choice is between life and death,” Russell declared in one quotation widely attributed to her.

Now isnt this amazing...

This is just about the same words I expected RINO Romney to say next during the 1st or 2nd debate in 2008,

after he had told us his aunt had an illegal abortion in the late 1960s and died from it...

But no, abortion pusher-king Romney shocked me by saying thats why he was FOR legal abortions and ran for both the US Senate and for MASS Gov on an abrtion platform doing his best to prove he was more of a murderous ghoul than his opponent Teddy Kennedy and the pro-abortion female Democrat..

and thats why he was proud of his Mom Lenore Romney running for the US Senate on an abortion platform in 1970 (still before abortion was legal)

RINO Romney never heard of Jane Russell, a better person than Romney...a lady to his scum...and a Christian...

and RINO Romney never heard of an abortion he didnt applaude...

and THAT fellow FReepers is the main reason I never voted for the sickening abortion lovin Romney...

Now as for Jane Russell, I saw a lot of her movies..

She also played opposite Bob Hope in a couple of western comedies..

She got my vote...

I last saw Jane at the Breakers in Palm Beach's Alcazar Lounge. She, along with June Allyson, Petula Clark, June's daughter, looking just as beautiful as ever, were just sweet, friendly, smiling and chatting it up with everyone. Out to listen to some “oldies” being played by “The Little Big Band.”

Oh, and not one imbibing in alcohol.Jane was a real class act - true to form through out her life.

God Bless her. I never knew about that abortion that left her unable to have children. She certainly atoned for that sin, with her support of the pro-life movement.

She use to attend CPAC.

We shared a table during the conference when it was held at Crystal City Marriott.

Gen. John Singlaub sat at the same table, got to love that guy, openenly disagreed with President Peanut.
