PORTLAND, Ore. -- An Oregon congressman facing calls for his resignation from some of the state's largest newspapers said the mental health condition from which he suffers doesn't prevent him from doing his job.
U.S. Rep. David Wu told KGW-TV in an interview aired Saturday that he won't specify his mental health issue.

the mental health condition from which he suffers doesn't prevent him from doing his job Sadly that's true for many government jobs these days.
To: jazusamo
That’s right. There’s no known mental condition that can keep a Democrat from acting like a Democrat.

I see nothing wrong with this headline. After all most Democrats are mentally ill and serve every day.

It won’t. He promises to continue to vote the same way he always did.
To: jazusamo
He may have a point. When you’re a Democrat politician, clinical mental illness is a job skill, not a disease.

“He promises to continue to vote the same way he always did.”
Most low-level reps almost always vote as their told. So, yes, it would almost be a mark of insanity for Wu to vote otherwise.
During the last Congress you almost could’ve had a simple computer program do the voting for 3/4 of the House.
To: jazusamo
They want him to resign so he doesn’t lose the seat next election. He is in a fairly seat that could have turned last election.
Pray for America

It is very difficult to distinguish between a liberal and someone who is mentally deranged - maybe impossible.

Of course he was perfectly fine in November when he ran for re-election and NO ONE suspected that he was cuckoo. After he’s re-elected all of these problems become evident and he’ll have to resign so the dem governor can appoint a successor who will have two years in office to build up support for his re-election.
