Justice Denied: Why Countrywide Chief Fraudster Mozilo Isn't Going to Prison
Daily Finance ^ | 2/23/11 | ABIGAIL FIELD

Posted on 02/23/2011 12:28:45 PM PST by Kartographer

Mark Malone, a former federal and state prosecutor who spent eight years prosecuting the mob, white collar criminals and political corruption, said:

"Mozilo was the boss of bosses of predatory lending. He was the inspiration for MERS, the electronic database used to facilitate much of the fraud surrounding predatory lending, mortgage securitization and fraudulent foreclosure practices. If prosecutors are not going to go after low-hanging fruit like Mozilo, the rest of the bankster bosses can sleep well, assured that their fortunes are secure."

Well, “justice” nowdays is SWAT teams breaking down homes in low-income neighbors and shooting your dog over half a joint.

The House should investigate Countrywide for corruption and bribery.

Hell they shouldn't go after him. He was just doing his job.
I'll bet that right now some kid is stealing candy at the 7-11. They should go after the kid with full force SWAT.

The house has bigger fish to fry. Leave Countrywide alone. Barney will investigate, the house can go after kids who let their pants fall below their waist. Now that is something that needs to be investigated.

-——Law without justice is worse than no law at all.——

We have no law, we have no justice.

If he goes to jail, Chris Dodd follows him. Mozilo made Dodd a sweetheart loan that was widely criticized but not one single reporter asked if Chris Dodd ever repaid a nickle.

If Mozzie sings, Crissy swings

I think there’s more reasons then even this article mentions as to why none of those crooks are not charged.

Although very funny, it has me thinking...

Police forces love to make drug busts because they get to seize the property of the drug dealer/user. How about we get some laws passed where white collar criminals face similar penalties? Then let's see how quickly SWAT switches their priorities.

Were they supposed to make loans to people with no prayer of paying them back, or not?

You can't have it both ways.

The Fed actively punished banks that did not make "predatory loans," AKA loans to people who were unqualified.

And once you open that door, EVERYBODY can go through it.

There never was discrimination in the banking industry, as evidenced by the fact that the default rates for races were the same.

Differing default rates would be evidence of discrimination.

He knows where all the DC skeletons are.

If he talks too much he'll be with Vince Foster.

If you think they are $crewing us you should see what these cut-throats are doing amongst themselves.

Silly-—Dodd can’t go to jail.

He is the front-runner to head the Motion Picture Assn. of America.

Could be named as Hollywood’s top lobbyist as early as this week and get over a a million dollar annual salary.....plus (cough) perks.

The chances of someone so tied to Business Socialism, Free Trade Communism, and America-killing Globalism....is not going to jail.

In saner times people like Mozilo would have been executed. Not surprised with the current America-Haters in both parties that Mozilo walks
