Police said they had arrested a 27-year-old man suspected of shooting a 42-year-old fellow audience member who later died of his wounds.
The conflict took place as the credits rolled during a screen of the Oscar-nominated film "Black Swan", according to police in the Baltic state.
Witnesses told the Latvian news agency Leta that it arose over how loudly the deceased man was eating his popcorn.
Gun-crime is relatively rare in Latvia, a European Union nation of 2.2 million.

Does it count if I saw it with my girlfriend?
I left a date during a movie..she was chomping on the popcorn very loud. Told her have go bathroom. Went to the lobby..and exited out the front door to the parking lot.
Left her. That night she called asking what happened. It was a first and last date.

GF asked me what I knew about the movie and I said “Has ballet, and Mila and Natalie lezz out!”
I thought the movie was very ‘existential’.
But if I never see another broken fingernail again it will be too soon!
The street rules movie theaters today. One example:
Dec 29, 2010(NewsCore) - “A Marine and his wife were attacked outside a movie theater on Christmas day after asking a noisy group of teens to be quiet during a showing of “Little Fockers,” The Bradenton (Fla.) Herald reported Tuesday.
The Florida brawl — which attracted about 300 bystanders — started after Frederico Freire, a 27-year-old Marine on leave from Afghanistan, and his wife Kayln Freire asked the flock of about 20 teens to hush during the comedy sequel starring Ben Stiller and Robert De Niro.
The teens cursed at the couple and Kayln Freire alerted a manager, who asked the troublemakers to leave.
The frustrated pair left the theater shortly after, too aggravated to enjoy the critically-slammed movie. But the Freires found themselves surrounded by the riled teens in the parking lot and a group of males started kicking and punching the Marine.
“I got back up to defend myself and they started running everywhere,” Frederico Freire told the paper, adding that he saw one of the teens — shirtless — punch his wife in the face, knocking her out, as she tried to get to safety.
A witness brandished a gun in an attempt to break up the mayhem and deputies soon arrived.
Four teens and one adult were arrested and about 300 bystanders had gathered by the end of the incident. As deputies tried to restore order, the movie theater manager had to shut down the facility — and dole out thousands of dollars in refunds to patrons.
Freire and his wife were not seriously injured, but he said he considered filing lawsuits against his attackers and the theater for failing to provide adequate security.
“I’m fine. My wife’s face is all swollen up. She’s got cuts in the inside of her mouth. I was able to defend myself pretty good because of my training, but I was more worried about her,” he said.”
What if they just wanted to see Natalie..well, you know, keep her hands underneath the covers so to speak?

I know my wife has threatened me many times with death by pillow asphyxiation.

Truth be told, I found that scene MUCH more erotic than the lesbian scene - and with a more relevant and funny conclusion!
That poor girl couldn’t get enough privacy and “me time” to push her little button without Mom right there!
How sad...
Why would anyone “act” that scene?
So many tell-tail reactions are physical - and quite hard to fake by having your hand under the covers near but not touching what they should be touching.
Gershon and Tilly have both independently said that their “acting” in Bound wasn't. ;)
