I think that's why they are reportedly in Illinois. They cannot be compelled to return, and anybody attempting to force them to return will be arrested for attempted kidnapping by the Ill state police.
They may have gone back to WI :)
Video of several carloads of Tea Partiers chasing a ‘short bus’ full of Democrat State Senators north on Interstate 94 would just be seven kinds of awesome!
Send in Delta Team to capture the fugitives. They can run but they cant hide.
***
Perhaps you meant, “Away Team”??
That would be great for the people of Wisconsin. No doubt about that!
I don’t know why it’s such a big deal that they took a school bus. Since there were only Democrats on board I’m sure it was the Short Bus they stole.
Aricle IV
Organization of legislature; quorum; compulsory attendance.
SECTION 7.
Each house shall be the judge of the elections, returns and qualifications of its own members; and a majority of each shall constitute a quorum to do business, but a smaller number may adjourn from day to day, and may compel the ttendance of absent members in such manner and under such penalties as each house may provide.
Article VIII
Vote on fiscal bills; quorum.
SECTION 8.
On the passage in either house of the legislature of any law which imposes, continues or renews a tax, or creates a debt or charge, or makes, continues or renews an appropriation of public or trust money, or releases, discharges or commutes a claim or demand of the state, the question shall be taken by yeas and nays, which shall be duly entered on the journal; and three/fifths of all the members elected to such house shall in all such cases be required to constitute a quorum therein.
Apparently the nature of this legislation binds them to the three/fifths rule for a quorum.
Or, perhaps Governor Walker can address the state--and take his case to the people.
Or, some combination of the above and lawsuits against: DNC for interfering in state business, the teachers union, et al.
Send some state police to the home of the union bosses--let's see if THEY like being harassed just like the Senate President of the state legislature.
I'd also like to see some Tea Party Express spots targeting (yes, TARGETING) the cowardly Demon-rats.
Declare their offices vacant and slate special elections.
Anyone here KNOW the penalties for non-attendance??
Let’s all chip in and send a bunch of hookers to the Clocktower, with a list of names.
Someone just told me what the Dems are doing in Wisconsin is illegal- they can’t do this. (I know- they’re libs, but still)
I wonder if that’s true and they’ve actually broken the LAW.

Re To Be a Republican Lawmaker in Madison
February 17, 2011 6:30 P.M. By Jay Nordlinger
We all get that President Obama is for the unions and against Governor Walker and the Wisconsin Republicans (and other Republicans). He has said so. Well and good. But his side is behaving despicably in Wisconsin, threatening the well-being of Republican legislators, who are merely doing the jobs the people elected them to do.
As you can see in the below interview, Republican senators are not saying whether they are sleeping in their own houses, and are working with law enforcement to keep themselves and their families safe.
Couldnt Obama say something? Couldnt he pretend hes president president of all the people and say, We have political disagreements, but were going to work them out peacefully and democratically. For example, massing at lawmakers homes, to shout and threaten, is out of bounds.
Wouldnt that be kind of . . . big of him? But in my observation and he has been president for two years now he is small. He was willing to speak out after Tucson. That was relatively easy. To speak out now would be exceptional, and exceptionally helpful. It would be helpful to Obama politically, too.
Who are the unionists going to support instead come 12? Angela Davis?
P.S. A couple of years ago, a South Carolina congressman shouted at Obama, You lie. This was a federal case a huge media cause for weeks. In Wisconsin, the Democratic side, generally speaking, is making Republican legislators coordinate with law enforcement to keep themselves safe. A Republican wont even tell a reporter whether he is driving home tonight.
This is disgusting.
No, which bar or whorehouse were they hiding in?
Well, whatever the rules are, that's that.
The GOP will sit on their hands like the pansies
Well the unions aren’t going to sit on their hands- I just heard a real thug on BOR- he’s a radio talk show guy in Wisconsin. His parting shot in the interview was “We’re going to shut this state down tomorrow, we need to shut this state down”...
‘Send some state police to the home of the union bosses’
Some police are taking part in the demonstrations. With the unions talking about shutting the state down, it may come to using the national guard, as with Governor Calvin Coolidge vs. the Boston police.
so since these guy turned tail and ran, and Walker’s a dictator (those signs told me so) how about he fire all the absent legislators, fire their staffs and start with those budget cuts.
