MADISON, Wis. — Police officers are looking for Democratic Wisconsin lawmakers who were ordered to attend a vote on a bill that would strip public employees of collective bargaining rights.

No Democrats showed up for Thursday's Senate session, meaning a vote cannot be taken. Republicans need one Democratic senator to be present. Calls to Democratic leaders were not immediately returned.

Republicans are pushing the anti-union bill proposed by GOP Gov. Scott Walker. Thousands of people clogged the halls of the Statehouse for a third straight day in opposition.

Protesters clogged the hallways of the Wisconsin state Capitol on Thursday as the Senate prepared to pass a momentous bill that would strip government workers, including school teachers, of nearly all collective bargaining rights.

Democrats who refuse to show up should be considered to have resigned.

Agreed.
On the plus side, the democrats are providing LOADS of fuel to fire up anyone who runs against them.

And so... if they violate the rules by voting without a quorum, who is going to file a complaint? Don't they have to show up to do that?

Your welcome I love his things also I hope Walker fires them our taxes are high enough and trying to get rid of one of them is next to impossible. They did have an affirmative action Principal at my grand daughters school two years ago she was beyond bad. The parents banded together after a heck of a battle they did manage to have her removed from their school but she was just placed in another position. Now would be the time to really clean house. Gov. Walker has our support and the majority of Wisconsin’s citizens that is why he was elected.

If it were Massachusetts, the cops would simply roust the bars, union halls and hourly-rate motels and find a quorum worth of state solons in under an hour.

all of them out there are being paid by the taxpayer.
Those elected are being paid by the taxpayer and now none of them are doing what they were voted in for or paid to do.

Surely there has to be a law where this is illegal?

The Dems run away and do not do their job, WTF has happened since this idiot has got in the white house.

We need power in all houses and turn back all of these left wing groups, send Soros back or arrest him.
Investigate this biased media.
Clamp down on unions that they're so weak and bankrupt that they are powerless to do this for at least two generations.

Okay, so why can't one Republican switch parties and become a Democrat for a day or two?

Nice, Walts, I like your thinking...

They have to get this done. It’s a precedent that cannot be left undone.

Having been a member of two Unions in my life, and seeing the damage done, and knowing the damage that we will all realize from one of those Unions in the future I believe they have to be busted.

People have to be free. Unions are not freedom.

I’m sure the unionized police will look REAL hard.

They had better if they don't want their collective union necks on the chopping block next.

the democraps are running scared and the Capitol Police are called out to locate them. Interesting development, because they are showing they are cowards. Unfortunately there are nutcases going through the hallways and banging on the glass windows.

Look at Obama he announced yesterday afternoon. He has threatened to shutdown the government and in doing so he has threatened to withold Social Security Checks. Here the idiot is now going after the poor, elderly and disabled. Way to go Democraps in Wisconsin and DC Living up to your symbol a Jacka.. ( I censored it but the period is actually s and s)

I hope every parent on here will sit down with their kids and explain how the left are destroying this country.

it seems too many parents which I have come across do not sit down with their kids, have no idea what their kids are told at schools etc.

The left have gone AWOL, and have showed us all that they're cowards.
If republicans did this the corrupt biased media will be in overdrive

I must admit I haven’t been following this very closely. If the dems have the majority, why not just vote “NO” and defeat the bill if they don’t like it?

Cairo has the Democrats and MSM all turned on just now. The tyranny of the street mob looks good to them. After all America is evil and we need a “people’s state” and new progressive constitution.

A remember several years ago when they ran out of the Texas legislature for the same reason. Pigs.

You insult pigs and I don't even eat pork!

I can't even express how thoroughly juvenile and lunatic it is for a party of elected representatives--adults--to run and hide to avoid taking a vote!
