MADISON, Wis. Police officers are looking for Democratic Wisconsin lawmakers who were ordered to attend a vote on a bill that would strip public employees of collective bargaining rights.
No Democrats showed up for Thursday's Senate session, meaning a vote cannot be taken. Republicans need one Democratic senator to be present. Calls to Democratic leaders were not immediately returned.
Republicans are pushing the anti-union bill proposed by GOP Gov. Scott Walker. Thousands of people clogged the halls of the Statehouse for a third straight day in opposition.
Protesters clogged the hallways of the Wisconsin state Capitol on Thursday as the Senate prepared to pass a momentous bill that would strip government workers, including school teachers, of nearly all collective bargaining rights.

They should begin the search by looking under rocks and cow turds...
WIS GOP: Showed courage to propose removing collective bargaining from WI Gov’t unions. They recognized their obligations to taxpayers and are ready to do what is needed.
WIS Socialist Dems: Hiding under their beds. Gutless. If they believed in the BS they shovel, they would have at least shown up. Losers.
They need 20 Senators to hold a quorum, but there are only 19 Republicans.
It’s actually a numbers game. They need 20 senators present, there are only 19 Republicans.
It's not because of the lack of presence of a Party; it's because a QUORUM (total members present) can't be reached without at least one more member being present. The members who are Republican are one short of having the required number for a Quorum.
I’m sure the unionized police will look REAL hard.
Dereliction of Duty democRATS!
I hope there is a law to kick their azzes from office.
An illegal strike by Democrats? figures. Can’t the senate in Wisconsin find something fun to vote on while they are all gone. I’m sure there is something they can vote on with a majority of those present, as long as no one suggests the ‘absence of a quorum?”
Democrats love giving power to the people to vote...
As long as they win.
Cops looking for democrats? Nothing has changed!
Democrats win an election=mandate for them to cram socialism and statism down the voters throat, i.e. deem and pass, etc.
Democrats lose an election=illegitimate election and license for the democrats to engage in any and all activitiy legal or illegal, i.e. hiding, ignoring lawful orders of courts while forum shopping for a court to rubber stamp that which the voters rejected, etc.
Bottom line, win or lose, the democrats have rigged the game so that they win. Hell, they spend every waking hour and minute trying to figure out how they can put an end to this “vote thingy” where the stupid masses actually get to determine who is or is not in the government. Our fearless Republican leaders in Washington’s response? Their response is impotence and playing by the rules, the rules that state democrats always win.
The GOP needs to find one democrat who can be bought, have him show up in the chamber & then ram through every other bill on the GOP agenda while the rest of the democrats freeze their *sses off at the Waunakee Motel 6.
The spineless Democrats all ran to Oklahoma and New Mexico to deny a quorum for a vote that they couldn't prevent otherwise.
They stayed until the legislative session ended. Personally, I wish the entire lot had been arrested for contempt.
Those democrats are commie bastards and should be voted out of office.
On Rush now
look for the largest lactating teat...
Maybe they're not back from Cairo yet.
They might try looking in Bahrain, though. They may have had a stopover.
The Texas episode in 2003 is the first thing I thought of when read the headline. Those TX Rats where living motels under assumed names to avoid voting. Apparently this is not uncommon in certain states.
