MADISON, Wis. — Police officers are looking for Democratic Wisconsin lawmakers who were ordered to attend a vote on a bill that would strip public employees of collective bargaining rights.

No Democrats showed up for Thursday's Senate session, meaning a vote cannot be taken. Republicans need one Democratic senator to be present. Calls to Democratic leaders were not immediately returned.

Republicans are pushing the anti-union bill proposed by GOP Gov. Scott Walker. Thousands of people clogged the halls of the Statehouse for a third straight day in opposition.

Protesters clogged the hallways of the Wisconsin state Capitol on Thursday as the Senate prepared to pass a momentous bill that would strip government workers, including school teachers, of nearly all collective bargaining rights.

20 members required for a quorum irrespective of party affiliation. GOP only holds 19 seats. One democRAT is required, not for bipartisan reasons, but simply to meet the quorum. Changing parties doesn't help

Move that a quorum is present. Who has the standing to object?

Rush just announced that all the dims are on one bus and are heading out of the state. State Police should be able to find a bus dont ya think?

Can they be charged with theft of the bus? Arrest them. Make a pass by the legislative offices enroute to be booked.

I would think that is theft of state property.
That bus belongs to the state and the tax payers would payed for it.
It is most CERTAINLY THEFT.

Throw them into prison!!!!

A remember several years ago when they ran out of the Texas legislature for the same reason.

Yep. They all went to Oklahoma so the Texas police couldn't haul their asses back as qallowed by law.

“Sergeant at arms staff has been informed by police to fear for their safety Ive been punched. We cant travel alone.”

Obama: “We have a FIGHT on our hands...”

Obama: “This seems like an ASSUALT on unions...”

Whipping up the mob, just like the “community organizer” that he is.

Totally irresponsible. I hope the families of the injured and killed sue his *ss off.

Sounds to me like they should fire the administrators that aided and abetted the strikers that falsified their sickness to skip out on work. That’s a lot of wages there!

"...the first logical stop if they headed south."

They'd best not cross the Mason-Dixon line. We don't take kindly to liberals in these parts.

I would, but my kids will be home from school soon. And I got to thinking..they probably just kept on driving ....to Chicago. More places to hide, more things to do and it is a union stronghold.

Fire them all and close the schools until they can reorganize as non-union schools. They schools will be much better and cost half as much. Bust those Unions. Public Unions should be outlawed.

Shut down Congress until they return. And let them know that’s the first order of business when they finally do.

Is there anything that can be done by Executive Order in the meantime?

Thank you! But it seems the logical thing to do. You need them there? You get them there. Who cares about false pretenses when dealing with democrats?
