Dateline Egypt:
[60 Minutes] correspondent Lara Logan was repeatedly sexually assaulted by thugs yelling, Jew! Jew! as she covered the chaotic fall of Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak in Cairos main square Friday.
Powerful reporting on an important story. Two problems: It didnt run until yesterday, and CBS didnt run it. The quote is from the New York Post. And it was The Wall Street Journal that reported the separation and assault lasted roughly 20 to 30 minutes.
But CBS? They sat on their own story. For five days, as reporters reveled amid giddy celebrations in Tahrir Square, and as President Obama praised President Obamas handling of the Egyptian crisis, CBS reported nothing.
Only when other media had the story did CBS break the news that its own chief foreign correspondent was the victim of a brutal and sustained sexual assault.
Five days of silence not even 60 Minutes coverage of the Egypt story. No mention of the mob of more than 200 people whipped into frenzy who attacked their own reporter.
How is that not news?

Having 200 good guys gang assault a female reporter while screaming Jew! Jew! doesnt fit the narrative. Is that why CBS sat on the story?
Or is it the cultural issue? A rape in a bar is a sex crime. But a pack of political protesters who rape a Jew in public is a story about culture.

You are clearly a sexist misogynist. What happened is the result of women wanting to be treated as equals and some really rose colored glasses jacka$$es making decisions.
The initial reports said she was beaten and sodomized; when they rescued her, she had to be hospitalized immediately and then when she was gotten out of Egypt, she had to be hospitalized again for repair of the damage.
They have to come up with a narrative.
Apparently they are deciding on “It was Mubarak’s thugs that did it!”
um... what?
Why? The reason CBS covered it up is that it made Muslims look like insane animals, and believe me, CBS wouldn’t have admitted that their heroes had committed a sexual assault unless the CBS head honchos were absolutely forced to do so, which they were because other news media (probably foreign) were talking about it. I think the first report I read was in a British source.
OK, I stand corrected. I wsa just going from my gut... I wouldn’t want it reported if it were me. But thats just me.
Thing is if the mob was against the side the MSM was cheering for then we would have heard all about the story within minutes, no matter what she wanted.
YES, that's why CBS didn't cover the story. It didn't fit their liberal narrative. IF she had been sexually assaulted at a Tea Party by 200 men we'd still be hearing about this story a year from now... and the Clintons would be asking for a memorial to be built in her honor...
There is no circumstance where the correct action is to send any woman into any situation like the one.
You should be willing to take a discrimination lawsuit, let your company be shut down, etc... as long as you did the right thing-— which is why I stated it was a cowardly act by CBS and all Americans/South Africans should be mortified that is our culture.
Word.
I can believe it though I wanted not to. I can only blame those that allowed her to be placed in such a bad place at the wrong time.
Now maybe the next time they send reporters out like this they will have several dozen armed security guards.
In summary the MSM is to blame for seeking sensationalism, they destroyed this person, I hope she wins a billion dollar lawsuit against them.
Oh come on Barry called her on the phone. He told her “Ya know the brothers were just kidding around Lara” “They didn’t mean it”. “Just a little fun”.
What did she do to deserve the rape? Fail to wear a headscarf? Show ankle? Walk around without a male relative?
Well, the Islamic Courts of Egypt should find her guilty of Adultery (unless she can find three witnesses) and have her stoned to death.
