TUESDAY MIDDAY--- BREAKING NEWS ON OBAMACARE REPEAL:
The House Rules Committee has rejected Rep. Steve King's proposal to FULLY DEFUND ObamaCare, failing to agree to "protect" King's amendment when it comes to the House floor.
Bottom line -- Republicans on the Rules Committee refused to play hardball to fully defund ObamaCare. By doing so, they are allowing Pelosi's "mandatory" self-funding provisions -- which many say are unconscionable if not unconstitutional -- to stand! This will force this Congress to approve most of the funding for ObamaCare.
FoxNews says King's provision would "cripple all government operations devoted to executing the health law."
DEBATE BEGINS THIS AFTERNOON.
Some Republicans do not want their gravy train to end. 2012 means we really should make sure we retire the RINOS and put solid conservatives in. They will be fighting us every step of the way; but it has to be done.
See post 53.
We can flush all we want but unless the Republican Party establishment is destroyed, don't expect any conservative movement or agenda to survive intact.
Rush was talking about this today on his show.... Basically he is saying that Republicans are trying to use the rules committee to say we will play fair unlike the Democrats did when they were in charge....
I don’t see how we can continue to waste money on a program that is clearly unconstitutional in its entirety as expressed by a Federal Judge.
So what? The GOP can make the House rules. Obamacare was brought in with parliamentary tricks, it could be destroyed the same way. Wake up, the GOP is trying to keep us on the plantation as well.
Thanks.
So I take it they must pass a special bill to defund it? Certainly congress has that power... better yet, hold a vote to eliminate that rule. What does that buy is, or is too late to change rules this session?
A bigger problem is that Boehner promised MANY times last year to defund it if Republicans won the house. That looks bad.
Thank you for being sensible, unlike the alarmist who posted this thread.
BREAKING NEWS!!! A House Rules Committee Tries to Trump Rule of Law!
I wish I had a good 18 day to go protest in DC but I don’t and will probably find many able to dedicate this amount of time and effort however, Twitter and Facebook seems like the right places to get a government protest movement started....
The idea we're playing with is taking a couple hours and going downtown to your own city hall on the same day as millions of others. That would send quite a message. If we could get the message out on facebook and twitter so much the better.
Then the effing republican party idiots wonder why we don’t contribute to them any more. We need to clean house BIG TIME in Washington. No more democrats. No more RINOs. All of them have to go. There are but a handfull of principaled conservatives out there. The rest need to be unemployed quickly.
This is why primaries REALLY matter.
I think I know why Boner cries all the time - he’s got his head so far up his a%% that the smell is bringing a tear to his eye.
John Boehner, if Your reading this, Get a Backbone and ptu your foot up this Rules Committee’s Butts! This is Outrageous! DEFUND THE WHOLE UNCONSTITUTIONAL ABORTION TOTALLY AND RIGHT NOW!!!!
I just phone Rep. Dreier’s office and told the young lady who answered that I am disappointed and that being from CA, I would remember his vote and would not vote for him for statewide office. I also said that if he didn’t offer an alternative to the Democrats there was no reason for him to be in office or for the Republican Party to exist.
” What a bunch of bums. “
What a bunch of TRAITOROUS WHORES
There....fixed it.
Lousy Haughty was horrible when she was my congressturd. She was horribly, wholly arrogant. A real piece of sh**, that one.
Basically, Rush has been carrying water for the Republican Party all his life and it's hard for him to put the bucket down. Not long ago he had Karl Rove sitting in for him on a day off. Karl Rove!!! The 'moderate' who led Bush and the Republican Party to hell in a handbasket, and the moron who scorns the Tea Party. Hey, I like Rush, but he's been a Republican too long, and as brilliant as he is, he's a tad naive about the Republicans. He wants to believe the best, which blinds him from the truth. MOST of the Republicans are indeed RINOS, (moderates), while Rush thinks it's just a few. My bet is that in the near future the Tea Party will actually become a HIGHLY legitimate Third Party, and the Republican Party and Karl Marx Rove will become the non-entities. We'll see where Rush goes.
I share your frustration. This is the problem with settling for a RINO instead of fighting for a real conservative.
Our only hope is for the us in the Tea Party to completely take over the GOP. The ones there now pay us lip service and then shoot us in the back. Dealing with Dims instead of RINOs is almost easier — at least then you know the enemy that is in front of you, instead of behind you with a knife.
These people need to hear from us NOW.
And whenever the RNC sends me letters begging for $$$, I send them a letter explaining exactly why I am not going to give them one single penny, and where my campaign dollars are going (to real conservatives’ campaigns directly).
I agree that we must hold Republicans accountable, but I detest your ad hominem attacks on Speaker Boehner.... How do you fall for those DU and Daily Kos talking points? or are you just Trolling FR? In any event maybe offering some clear points on battling the entire entitlement nightmare that Liberals have created in the USA.
