TUESDAY MIDDAY--- BREAKING NEWS ON OBAMACARE REPEAL:
The House Rules Committee has rejected Rep. Steve King's proposal to FULLY DEFUND ObamaCare, failing to agree to "protect" King's amendment when it comes to the House floor.
Bottom line -- Republicans on the Rules Committee refused to play hardball to fully defund ObamaCare. By doing so, they are allowing Pelosi's "mandatory" self-funding provisions -- which many say are unconscionable if not unconstitutional -- to stand! This will force this Congress to approve most of the funding for ObamaCare.
FoxNews says King's provision would "cripple all government operations devoted to executing the health law."
DEBATE BEGINS THIS AFTERNOON.
That is the best question asked in a very long time.
Gee shocker...NOT...

Useful to remember the next time the moderates speak of 'compromise'. The time for all that is over - we're too far gone now.
Hilary’s FBI files still effective. as are kickbacks to both sides.
Your post..has me sobbing
So sad!!!!!!!!!!
I still dont understand the issue here, why they cant defund it.
HA!
I concur and if the snow wasn’t so deep I’d go find a rock to climb under. This sucks.
"The committee determined the measure violated House rules against members "legislating" on appropriations bills. However, a committee member reminded Rep. King that he has "lots of other opportunities" to offer a similar amendment to other bills this year."
In other words, kick the can down the road and p!ss on the mandate of the voters!....and, Judge Vinson's ruling!
Thank you for the link. I read it and understand what they are doing. Clearly they want to show that they are better representatives of the people, but they cannot think for a moment that it will change any Democrat’s mind, in the media or the private sector, about the Republican party.
And I REALLY do not understand how not one of them is talking about this law being ruled unconstitutional, and how moving forward to fund it is unconscionable.
You really have to wonder about these folks : /
Tatt
Thank you very much for providing that link.
“Which proves one thing. Democrats like Slaughter know how tough it was to pass the health care law in 2009 and 2010.
And now Republicans like King are learning how tough it is to undo it.”
I can understand the reluctance to vary the established rules, and NOT be RAT in their approach to this task, but I also see King’s point. The Left is well experienced in breaking the rules.
When our people are dealing with RATS, they aren’t dealing with people that can be dealt with. Democrats aren’t a true American Political entity anymore as much as they are a minor self serving radical club that will do anything required to prevail.
If there are other means to get the job done, and get it done in such a way as to not fund anything that would make it even more difficult to stop ObamaCare down the road, then fine, go there. Otherwise they had better do it now with whatever means they can muster no matter how it looks to the purists.
I was let down at the idea they would refuse King’s amendment without any idea of direction other than “there has to be something we can do”, and not vary the rules.
Cowardly republicans. No more donations and no more tea party support for them.
Man I’m pissed!!!
I thought we had it made in the shade with the GOP putting the breaks on Obamacare. But apparently not.
The US is turning into a loser country.
I had planned to move to East Europe if things got out of hand but the loser gov there is importing 55 million Africans and Middle Easterners so where is my family able to go?
I think Rush talked about it.
He talks a huff and puff good game, and then he fails us.
He is an alcoholic, who cries. Ulysses S. Grant was an alcoholic, but he did come through for the common good during the Civil War. For now, Boehner is what we have to work with.
Courage is fear that has said its prayers. These politicians are lacking courage, are cowards and place value on the wrong things. Grab those cajones, boys and girls, and act with the courage that our soldiers must display every day. What the hell is YOUR excuse for being weak?
Keep the pressure on Boehner, everyone, and demand, push him into delivering on his promise to listen to the people who spoke in November, 2010. THIS IS OUR JOB, AND WE MUST KEEP ON THE BACKS OF THESE POLITICIANS...get er’ done.
They are standing by the ‘rules’ instead of the Constitution (and their oath(s).
It doesn't matter that the whole monstrosity was passed by every trick in the book and broke every rule written. Or that the pos in the WH refuses to bow to any law restricting him, the repubs have asserted that they ‘will not break the rules’.
Who’s on the House Rules Committee and why are they acting as Enemies of the Constitution and American citizens?
