TULSA, Oklahoma -- A Tulsa woman's headless body was found inside her home and police believe she may have died in late December or early January.
Tulsa Police made the discovery Monday morning in the 5300 block of East 21st Street while checking on the well-being of the 55-year-old woman who had not been seen since Christmas Day.
Police say there were several dogs still inside the home and Tulsa Animal Control was called in to remove them.
Officers found evidence the dogs had eaten parts of the body. The woman's head was found in another part of the home.
It's not clear who called police and asked them to check on the woman.
Police believe the woman died of natural causes many weeks ago. Her body has been taken to the state Medical Examiner's Office.
It’s a known fact that cats are evil and think of ways to do us in when we least expect it.
Still not quite as good as the classic
“Headless Body Found in Topless Bar.”
So people knew she had dogs; she hadn’t been seen since xmas, yet, they wait until now to call police? Could someone been a little quicker with their concern...arrgh.
Oh the fun one could have snarking that headline.
Ya, even if she had no pets, the fact that nobody checked on her in that long is kind of concerning to say the least.
This topic came up a few days ago in a thread concerning an elderly (probably diabetic) man whose dog gnawed off his toes. A comment was made by someone that where cats usually devour their deceased masters, dogs usually "starve while guarding the body".
I guess the dogs in Oklahoma didn't get that memo.
Was that one of the two dead kids from the Mena airport deal?
At least a cat would not bite off the dearly departed’s head and carry it into another room.
If something like this happened to me I would want my dogs to eat me rather than have them starve to death. Why would I care since I’m already dead.
That’s a morbid area of thought. But all he would have had to do was to take a realistically proportioned toy pistol and try it. I’d think it could as easily end up sideways.
It’s always good to have a neighbor look in because the doggies can’t live forever on you (and anyhow, they’d need water).
I agree with you. Unfortunately some people are very unfriendly and don’t want to have anything to do with their neighbors. We have neighbors that go away a lot so half the time I don’t even know if they’re in town. It wouldn’t be unusual to not see them for months.
I have kids that would check on me, if only to see how soon they get their inheritance. :)
Yeah, as I recall the story was they witnessed drug deliveries into Mena when Slick Willy was gooberner of Arkansas. They wound up dying and their cause of death was ruled to be “natural causes”. IIRC, one of them was decapitated by a train.
"So the woman's head was separated from her body?"[pathologist] "yes"
"and she died?"
"Naturally"
[intern, speaking to self as she checked the box] "type of death, natural."
Thats what I recall from seeing the Clinton Chronicles some years ago.
There were copies of the Clinton Chronicles still available online the last time that I looked for it a couple of years ago; a very telling docuflick on the Clintoons.
I’m sorry but that is the creepiest picture of a cat that I have seen in some time. I think you need two priests, one old and one young... plus a whole lot of holy water.
Ain’t my cat. I won’t have a cat around...
Just a photo I found by googling “evil cat.”
No need for exorcisms here :)
