Hundreds of people have obtained a refund of their union dues. You can to!

A new way to help American workers keep their working wages free.

Under the 1988 Supreme Court decision Communications Workers of America v. Beck every member of a union is entitled to a full refund of their dues that are not directly used for representing them. Until now though, it’s been almost impossible for any member to find out exactly how much their refund should be.

The process is simple. Choose your labor state from the list below. Fill out some basic information and UnionRefund will automatically generate a letter that you can print and mail to your union representative to claim your individual refund. UnionRefund will also send a courtesy notification letter to your union to ensure a quick resolution for your request. It’s that easy!

Won’t that get them punished by being moved to the bottom of the out of work list?

I read an article some place, that the basic story was that for the
trades, if a special assessment comes down, and you don't fill out
the card to authorize the deduction, you're no longer needed at the
job site at the next opportunity.

That's how they get around the refund "problem".

You will receive your refund promptly, hand delivered by four or five of your union officials.

It would be GREAT if there was a mass-filing of un-employed Union Brothers who wanted to get some of their DNC-funneling dues back.

I would be that the bulk of Union dues goes to the Union Bosses expenses, salaries, and benefits, to the Union "donations" to Democrats, and the smaller portion left is used for "Collective Bargaining".

The Unions are the new Mafia; and simply used to channel dollars to politicians to have Laws passed that bail-out or prop up the extortion scheme.....ESPECIALLY true in Government Unions......(AFSCME, SEIU, etc.)

If you get out of union dues, won’t there be a new “service fee”, the same amount as the union dues, that covers getting blanket union benefits?

The page says to get your union refund, you will be ending your union membership. My union is not listed. There are not many details on the web page.

No, not Glenn Beck.

Harry Beck - a phone company maintenance worker that did not want his union money going to politicians.

My union is not listed either.

I don’t need this. What I NEED is paycheck protection to be passed here in California state. Arnold tried to get that passed in the special election his first year when the Nurses Union and Teachers Union combined to clean his clock.

I wish the CA GOP would quit complaining about the flood of union money going to fund Democratic party politicians, and would get Paycheck Protection passed, so that EVERY CA union has to get explicit permission in advance to use union money to fund political campaigns.

I guarantee that the flood of union money going to Democratic party re-election campaigns would run dry if we had paycheck protection, and each and every year the union had to get permission in advance. Oh sure, there would be a huge annual push by the unions to get this permission and many would be coerced into it, but even if we could deprive Democrats of half the current money, it would helf the GOP greatly.

Union money is a big reason why the Democratic Party has a monopoly on California government at all levels.

I’m not familiar with paycheck protection, but I’ll look into it. Over here, the Indiana GOP is floating an idea to make IN a right to work state and the unions are already busting down the doors of the state capital, including my union. I guess their afraid of a little competition...

I know someone who belong to SEIU 1000 (CA state worker) paid close to $100 a month to work in CA and exercised her Beck rights and received a check for $12. The union determines how much you will get back. It’s a scam

Filing for this refund is a joke - on those forced to pay union dues. I pay almost a thousand per year and got near nothing in return when I filed - $35 bucks!

And no - you get nothing retroactive to prior years, and using the website pointed to here only generates a ton of additional paperwork for you.

I tried years ago to get back the “political” portion of my dues. What I received from the national HDQ was 5 pages of “which shell is the pea under” and no refund. As stated, it’s the union that “calculates” how much of the dues are applied to political action, regardless of how much they truly spend.
