A port official has admitted that a 'weapon of mass effect' has been found by 'partner agencies' in the U.S., raising major questions over a possible government cover-up.
The disturbing revelation came in an interview with San Diego's assistant port director screened by a television channel in the city.
The Customs and Border Protection Department tried to dampen speculation over his remarks, but doubts remained over whether he had inadvertently revealed a dirty bomb plot to attack the U.S. mainland.

So, specifically, you're looking for the dirty bomb? You're looking for the nuclear device? asked Mr Blacher.
Correct. Weapons of mass effect, said Mr Hallor.
You ever found one? asked Mr Blacher.
Not at this location, Mr Hallor said.
But they have found them? asked Mr Blacher. Yes, said Mr Hallor.

And we have to find this out from a BRITISH news source?

Really? Detonate one inside an enclosed arena during a game, or in the bottom of the Sears Tower at 10:30 AM on a Wednesday morning and get back to me.
My feeling is that no change would be necessary — we already treat them as if they were in control of us. So maybe the devices are here. Either that, or Obama is a Muslim. I don’t see a third option.
The original source is Channel 10 in San Diego, yet not one other media outlet picks it up until the Daily Mail. Not even a local FReeper saw this, apparently.
This catchy phrase may sound cute, but it really tends to tick me off.
I feel so safe knowing our government is working so tirelessly and diligently to keep us all safe.
I’ll sleep so well tonight......
“Not even a local FReeper saw this apparently”
I think this is the fourth posting of this incident on FR this weekend. FR is doing its part.
Good point.
Thanks for the ping Jet Jaguar.
I agree FR is doing its part, but a bit surprised that no FReepers saw it on the original source.
“Basically, a nation thats in debt *beyond* its eyeballs, is never negotiating from a position of strength. “
I am no advocate of debt, but I do like to play with the notion that:
If you owe the bank $10,000, you are in trouble. If you owe the bank $10,000,000, the bank is in trouble.
Perhaps in spite of our terrible malfeasance we have ended up the major player.

How do terrorists typically scare people? They kill a lot of them at once.
If you're scared into inaction and confustion after an attack, they win.
But if you're scared of them before they attack and work to prevent it, then that fear is constructive.
Well, technically you can, but you have to look out for the Stuxnet worm (or be prepared to make and handle UF6 for awhile).
Then again, there's always breeder reactors: but I don't recall what isotopes they produce, nor the myraid details which would be involved in fashioning a bomb from them.
Too complex to do on-site in an hour, though, which was pretty much your point.

Cheers!
Thanks for the ping!
