David Keene, the longtime chairman of the American Conservative Union, stepped down on Wednesday as the leader of the organization, one day ahead of the first of its annual Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC).
Keene had chaired the organization since 1984 and will still preside over the annual conservative gathering. His impending exit had been anticipated, but not the timing.
Al Cardenas was selected to succeed Keene. Cardenas was born in Cuba in 1948, and has been a player in conservative politics since the Reagan presidency.
I look forward to taking advantage of the new energies we see today in the conservative movement to make this storied organization even more influential in the future said Cardenas in a press release.
nail on head
manc,
I appreciate that post but you may not want to publicly defend me on FR. I have lost a LOT of money as a result of becoming the Florida Director for GOOOH. Every GOP/RNC connected organization has withdrawn funds from any project that GOOOH partners with. This is only the beginning of the fight... If you want to join the battle I suggest your put on your FULL ARMOR first !
A short review of Ephesians chapter 6 would be helpful :)
Suggest reading the whole chapter but if you are in hurry you can start at verse 11 :)

If the GOP ever did that, I would never want anything to do with it.
FOLLOW THE MONEY Friendofgeorge.... FOLLOW THE MONEY !
just curious as to why someone would call someone a name and not say why they did it.
Do you have a link which details these MB associations. I would like to have some ammo when I next discuss this with some strong supporters of CPAC whom I know.
BTTT
much FR history in that comment my FRiend... many of my RNC/GOP connected friends have chosen to pledge their allegience to the party and are willing to try and destroy me (politicaly) in the process... after 10 years of STRONG OUTSPOKEN CONSERVATIVE ACTIVISM many of my friends are willing to call me a liberal because I posted a sarcastic “endorsement” of Alex Sink and refused to publicly endorse Rick Scott for Gov. of Florida..... although I did vote for Rick Scott I refused to publicly endorse him because of his intended policy toward the FRS. I strongly support Rick Scott on many other issues.. but I told him I would fight him on FRS...
This and other GOOOH related postings..
It’s the Fredo of Conservative Conferences
David Keene is convinced that what he has to say cannot be questioned.
I dont know anyone who is as well-liked by as many Republicans of influence around the country as Jeb Bush, said Cardenas.
Cardenas said he did not think negative views of the George W. Bushs administration would affect Jeb Bush. The question is whether the polling numbers for his brother are that meaningful with respect to Jeb Bushs political future, said Cardenas. I dont really see it as that relevant as others do.
I hope hes encouraged to run for national office at some point, he added.
'Nuff said. I would bet he supports an amnesty like Jeb.
In other words, you're for shrinking government except for what you get from it.
Which is exactly the problem we face - someone else is supposed to give something up.
Which makes you part of the problem, not part of the solution. What a shock.

Stop disparaging those who asked to be removed from your ping list.
And alkso, I have the right to not have it shoved in my child’s face. Whether they are fags, or whatever the hell they are doing, it should not be discussed publicly. Society worked like that for a very long time.
dirtboy,
here we go again... how many threads on FR are going to be wasted with the same discussion over and over again.. I am all for REAL COST SAVING MEASURES accross the board.. but a shell game with the public money is NOT acceptable. I am told that the problem is on the HIGH END of the FRS incomes not at the LOW end.. so why are we trying to make the lowest paid FRS employees “pay into the system” again with PUBLIC DOLLARS so it really does not save the taxpayers a dime.. just a shell game...
I have suggested that we made the FIRST $30,000/yr EXEMPT from employee contribution and everything over $30,000/yr the employee can contribute... 5%, 10%, 15%... whatever it takes to get the budget under control... this will at least try to keep our lowest paid employees off food stamps
I am open to REAL discussion on the issue, but a shell game is NOT acceptable.. and does NOTHING to save the taxpayers a dime... and runs the risk of putting more State Employees on welfare..
Yeah, yeah, yeah. Everyone else needs the slop in their trough reduced but you. Where have we heard that before?
Corrected Post #51
CPAC is DEAD FOLKS ! As is ANY organization that is financially linked to the RNC/GOP !! As I keep saying over and over again 2012 will be the year that INDEPENDENT CONSERVATIVES pull away from the money pit that is controlled by the RNC/DNC coalition of corruption ! You might not like it but it is happening right before your eyes ! Wake up American Conservatives and join the NON-PARTISEN process for electing CITIZEN REPS to the United States House of Representatives !
to be added or removed from my ping list please FReepmail me.. This ping list is current as of today and will be updated as requests to add/remove are received.
dirtboy,
why must you hurl personal attacks on me instead of discussing the issue. I am NOT part of any union, and I have suggested a common sense solution and you have chosen a personal attack rather than discuss the merits of my suggestion?
