"If we're fighting to reform the tax code and increase exports, the benefits cannot just translate into greater profits and bonuses for those at the top. They have to be shared by American workers, who need to know that opening markets will lift their standard of living as well as your bottom line," President Obama told the Chamber of Commerce on Monday morning.

Hey, do you want to share in corporate profits? BUY STOCK!

Chrysler shareholders thought that was a good idea. I'll bet a lot of them were employees or former employees of Chrysler.

They are bummer ... they’re called paychecks and benefits.

Sorry if that’s not enough but look at it this way - if there ain’t no corporate profits, there ain’t no workers either. So just keep begrudging the corporations and their shareholders their profits - that’s such a winning hand.

Zero, business already does. It’s called a PAYCHECK. Since you have never held a job before, including the one you are playing at now, you wouldn’t understand the concept. Companies have goods/services that they need to provide/produce. They hired employees that provide/produce the goods/services. The companies receive payment for goods/services and they in turn pay the employees for their labor. Win-win for everyone. See how that works, Zero? I know it’s above your pay grade, so I spelled it out as simply as I could.

After the government regulates and taxes the private sector to death they want to dictate to them too.

Stupid that people fall for this stuff.

Go F_ _ _ yourself.

Employees are paid a fair wage.

How in the F_ _ _ are you tell me what I have to pay an employee?

We need to give our profits back to the employees?

How then, pray tell, will we plow those same profits into improving the business or expanding?

Get out of our White House you Devil Worshipin’, Satanic Inspired, Communist.

“stop outsourcing job”

I agree, and my suggestion is to it by competing with the foreign suppliers rather than making rules (tarriffs). Actually, why not do both.

Exactly.

I have friends who have not taken a paycheck from “their” company so their employees can maintain their standard of living and keep their jobs.

The owners of these companies are living off their savings to help other people who don’t understand what the effect is on the owners and those very same employees would never do that.

Don’t forget matching contributions to Social Security, which is another 8% right off the top and FICA, etc.

He “forgot” to mention that profits of corporations are to be shared among the investors, after expenses, which are supposed to be kept in line to maximize the investor return.

The miracle of the market is that if the wage isn’t “fair”,
no one would work for it...

So, if a company loses money will the employees also be taking pay cuts, so that they share the risk as well as the reward?

What a moron! Corporations already share their profit with the workers. It’s called paychecks and matching 401Ks.

I just hope our next president has work experience beyond working at Baksin Robions Ice Cream when they were 16 years old.

Actually, U.S. workers --- either individually, or through their labor union pension funds, mutual funds and so forth --- ARE major owners/shoreholders of U.S. businesses, and DO share the profits.

Zero talks like it's 1938 -- or 1914 --- or 1848 --- some retro scenario were the white-moustached capitalists all wear striped pants and top hats, and the oppressed workers, shirtless and sweating, are toiling in the mills for a dollar a day.

Idiot.

Obama: Corporate Profits “Have To Be Shared By American Workers” (video)

Back in the mid 1980s, I ran into a guy at a gym in Oklahoma City
that had worked for Chrysler in Detroit.
He said that for a fair number of the senior union “workers”,
they took off for a bar as soon as possible along with a Wall Street Journal
to check their stock portfolios.
And to call in sells/buys.

Yeah, those union guys aren’t getting part of the corporate profits (guffaw).
