Very sad. He was far too young and talented.
... the pieces of Blofeld's evil plan fall into place ...
Below is a link to a compilation on Youtube of his greatest hits.

‘James Bond: The Movie Themes’ is a great collection on CD. I’ve borrowed it a time or two from my library.
Contains:
Goldfinger — You only live twice — Diamonds are forever —Live and let die — Nobody does it better — For your eyes only — The man with the golden gun — Moonraker — A view to a kill — Goldeneye — Tomorrow never dies — All time high.
Live & Let Die is a favorite for some reason; the raw energy, I think...

(And, we could’ve all lived without ‘Rita What’s Her Name’ and the last cut, LOL!)
The good die young.
Indeed, the ‘Somewhere In Time’ theme was his most beautiful.
I have every single James Bond soundtrack - including the 1967 Casino Royale.
Nice collage. Growing up in the 60’s, Barry’s music always intrigued me with his sense of style and coolness with the Bond films (”Goldfinger,” “Thunderball, YOLT, OHMSS, DAF) “The Ipcress File,” and “The Persuaders,” as well as his sense of pomp and majesty in the scores for “Mary, Queen of Scots” and “The LIon in Winter.” What always surprised me, though, was how his music always seemed to hit me emotionally in films like “Zulu,” “Somewhere in Time” and “Out of Africa,” which was simply exquisite. Yeah, I’d suddenly develop a cold or allergy as an excuse to explain moistening eyes. His music coupled with great cinematography saved an otherwise silly film in “Dances With Wolves.” His music was like the background theme of my life, and I’m sure I’m not the only one who feels that way. Another connection to my youth has passed on. He will be sorely missed. Requiescat in pace, John Barry.
I’ve always loved those theme songs. :)
I love the music from “ Chaplin” and “Out of Africa” and “Somewhere in Time” and just about everything else he wrote. What a loss to music and movie lovers. Rest in Peace Mr. Barry.
