One freshman House Republican is unhappy with Rep. Michele Bachmann's (R-Minn.) decision to give her own response to President Obama's State of the Union address.
Rep. Joe Walsh (Ill.) who rode a wave of Tea Party support into Congress said that Bachmann's speech was a "distraction" that gave the media fodder to speculate about division within the Republican Party.
"I mean, there is no more Tea Party freshman on the planet than myself, but I'll be the first to say, respectfully, Michele had no business making that speech last night," Walsh said Wednesday, according to Chicago radio station WLS.

“No one elected Bachmann leader of the tea party and her running out in front of the parade doesnt impress me”
In that case, do what Bachmann has requested—don’t think about her. Don’t be distracted by personalities because this kind of distraction is the cause of all our problems.
Start being impressed with the Constitution.
Indeed. Michele Bachnmann has been giving her time, attention, and voice, to the concerns of conservative voters since before the "birth" of the tea party movement. And she was the perfect voice for the Tea Party Express's rebuttal to BO's SOTU speech.
There is no problem here. The media is trying to cause trouble, and some folks in DC are falling for it.
Screw the democrats, screw the media, and screw the RINOS; we are trying to save our country.
Hear! Hear!
Just publish their "essays" in the newspapers and return the rest of us to our regularly scheduled programs. The whole event was so boring, I couldn't watch more than a minute of any of the "speeches". All they did was just read from teleprompters. Zzzzzzzzzz
I can’t understand how anyone could be bored by the principles of liberty described in our Constitution (Bachmann’s speech).
Nice sentiment in the Ronnie Reagan mode. I usually agree with it. However, if implemented it would cut FR posts by 75%.
Opportunistic little twit who wants to see his name in the paper.
Hell, I’m thinking about moving to his district just so I can vote against him in the next election.
He can send a memo, he doesn't have to parade his pompous ass before the American people and bore us all to tears. And besides his "speech" did NOTHING to report on the state of th Union. It was just a platform for Obama to praise himself.
“Tea Party freshman: Bachmann ‘had no business’ giving a speech Tuesday (Joe Walsh, IL)”
The emphasis here is on FRESH.
There’s been a lot of criticism of Bachmann lately, all shallow contrived attacks, because they have nothing to tear down in the content of her comments.
personally I think we should ban teleprompters at all public speeches and events. Anyone can read a Teleprompter, but it takes a special effort and a lot of natural talent to deliver a speech. Tuesday night was an exercise in essay reading. I didn't hear a single speech.
Reverence for the Constitution necessarily shines a favorable light on efforts to support and defend it.
A distaste for the Constitution brings criticism for the same.
That doesn't surprise me at all. I remember at some point, either the summer or right after the Nov. elections, Hannity wouldn't acknowledge Sarah Palin would be a viable pres. candidate. It was during one of his tour shows that he named everyone but Palin and Ollie North kept saying her name. Hannity just ignored North.
Now, after Rush has been talking about Palin for weeks and it's obvious Rush really likes her, Hannity seems to have changed his ways. He now talks about her as presidential material.
I would imagine if Rush talks about Bachmann positively and praises her, you'll see a change in Hannity.
Walsh needs to learn his place.
There is nothing in Article II section 3 that compels the President to give a televised speech to a joint session of congress. The SOTU could be delivered in an envelope by first class mail, return receipt requested. Your "reverence" for the constitution is no more than that of those of us who think this whole big speech debacle was nothing more than a colossal waste of time and taxpayer dollars.
What division? She said exactly the same thing only more forcefully, it was a great pair of responses.
Pray for America
Future Beltway Elitist?
I don't think it was FoxNews that made that decision for Hannity. I think Hannity is an idiot. If he wasn't following Limbaugh (and has been his whole career) on the radio would anyone even know who he is?
I havent left them , they have left me.
Isn't that what the Tea Party is all about? God Bless Them.
Obama wastes time and taxpayer dollars.
Bachmann fights to do the opposite.
