One freshman House Republican is unhappy with Rep. Michele Bachmann's (R-Minn.) decision to give her own response to President Obama's State of the Union address.
Rep. Joe Walsh (Ill.) who rode a wave of Tea Party support into Congress said that Bachmann's speech was a "distraction" that gave the media fodder to speculate about division within the Republican Party.
"I mean, there is no more Tea Party freshman on the planet than myself, but I'll be the first to say, respectfully, Michele had no business making that speech last night," Walsh said Wednesday, according to Chicago radio station WLS.

Go take a closer look at Michelle Bachmann and what she’s done in her life.
You will see that she is not driven by pettiness or personal gain.
The last thing the Ruling Class wants is for people to actually find out the truth about Michelle Bachmann.
This is why they her to be ridiculed by people like Chris Matthews and politically opposed by tea party freshmen like Joe Walsh who have been so easily corrupted by their newly acquired power.
I don’t oppose Bachmann’s speech or Bachmann. I think she is the real deal. The fact that she fought back is a good thing. Maybe four parties will even be a good thing.
In people who are driven, the personal inevitably becomes intertwined with the political. Their amibition is for their cause, but to get to the place where they can be powerful enough to help the cause, they have to be ambitious for themselves as well.
Don’t forget: I said they started it. She had no choice but to respond in kind, or else take doormat lessons.
But your comments here can only be sarcastic, given your post # 8 where you said it “will be a circus like we have never seen before.”
Don’t get caught up in the confusion of political manipulations.
As a matter of fact, the ultimate focus is not even on Bachmann. It’s on the Constitution, which she happens to be supporting and defending very well, unlike most elected leaders.
I see nothing wrong with getting two responses to the pathetic SOTU address by President Obama. The more the better. Bachmann's response was a little more focused and to the point when compared to Ryan's excellent, but broader rebuttal.
What is wrong with multiple responses, especially when they complement one another? Let the useless media with their superficial, boring, and pointless prattle continue. Who cares and who listens to them -- Democrats?
Bachmann’s response was not personal. It was not a response to some struggle over a leadership position.
If Bachmann had been given a commitee chairmanship, she still would have given a tea party response to the SOTU because it’s what she does and has been doing all along.
Except that it's required by the Constitution....
He shall from time to time give to Congress information of the State of the Union and recommend to their Consideration such measures as he shall judge necessary and expedient.
Article II, Section 3 of the U.S. Constitution
That was not sarcasm. It was not a prediction either. Just an if-then statement.
Of course our basic focus should be on the Constitution. This is a thread about Walsh, Bachmann, her speech, etc., not the Constitution.
The whole thing, all of Washington politics throughout history, is about the Constitution.
The Constitution is never off topic. But many in congress and in the media would like it to be.
I found it interesting that Hannity did NOT show Bachman’s address. Instead he went to Luntz’s focus group after Ryan spoke. I think Hannity doesn’t like Bachman - probably because she’s a lot smarter than him.
Yes, but orginally it was written and sent to Congress.
Note to newbie Rep.:
STFU Rookie.
This idiot freshman is already worried about what 'the media' will say! Geezzzzz!
If I’m not mistaken, her address was an internet stream directed to the people that elected him......It’s the LSM that created an issue where none existed. Typical crap
Never attack your own people.
Get with the program ,get with the program.
Let’s try to keep our minds clear about what needs to be done.
Michelle Bachmann is an example for all members of Congress to follow. She understands the Constitution and knows we have to fight for it, tooth and nail.
Hear, hear!
I agree with the spirit of Joe’s comment. No one elected Bachmann leader of the tea party and her running out in front of the parade doesn’t impress me
But
I love the fact that the press is covering this difference of opinion. They like to define and isolate the right. When differing opinions get covered it serves us well.

Judging by the daily appearances of Chrissy Matthews...er....Newt Gingrich....on Hannity’s show....Hannity is pushing Newt for the White House
Bachmann is too conservative for the ever-growing liberal Fox News
Michelle Bachmann is not liked by the Liberal RINO establisment. Do not forget that the GOP House election committee did not support her in the 2006 General election
