WASHINGTON, D.C., January 24, 2011 (LifeSiteNews.com) - As hundreds of thousands of pro-lifers prepare to brave a bitter cold to march to the Supreme Court in Washington Monday afternoon, President Obama has released a statement reaffirming his commitment to the legalized killing of unborn children as a “private family matter.”
In the statement released Saturday, the anniversary of the Roe v. Wade decision, Obama celebrated the decision as one “that protects women’s health and reproductive freedom, and affirms a fundamental principle: that government should not intrude on private family matters
“I am committed to protecting this constitutional right.”
While also expressing commitment to programs to help pregnant women, Obama encouraged Americans to pledge fidelity to “to ensuring that our daughters have the same rights, the same freedoms, and the same opportunities as our sons to fulfill their dreams.” Obama released a similar statement on last year’s anniversary.
The pledge comes only days after a Pennsylvania grand jury exposed the gruesome practice of one local abortionist who, according to the jury’s findings, routinely severed the necks of newborn children because he was too unskilled a physician to administer a digoxin injection, a normal means of late-term abortion.
As an Illinois state senator, Barack Obama voted against a law that would have protected infants from being killed when born alive during a failed abortion. Pro-life advocates have pointed to these votes, as well as his votes in favor of partial-birth abortion, as evidence of Obamas extremism on abortion.
Philadelphia abortionist Kermit Gosnell is now being held without bail for the murder of seven newborn children and one woman who died following a botched abortion. Nine of Gosnell’s clinic workers are also being held by police, four of them on murder charges.
My feelings of despite for this man can go no deeper.
Really Barky? How about the rights of parents to raise children as they see fit? How about the rights of parents to educate their children as they see fit?
Gonna sign that UN Rights of the Child treaty, Barky?
I should know better. Leftists have NO sense of shame over their hypocrisy.
This evil sack of dung cannot fall hard enough. It may be falling in the polls but that is not enough. This thing should be outcast from the whole world. It should spend the rest of its days in total isolation and terror. Death is too good for it.
Same goes for any vermin who still support it.
The man is a monster. Anyone who would approve of murdering a baby born alive is disgusting. Bad enough that we slaughter them at a rate of 3,300 daily, but to excuse the wanton, deliberate infanticide of live, born, living humans is a disgusting outrage. He’s a heartless monster.
His “excuse” was there was an irreconcilable conflict between protecting a born alive infant and the “right to abortion”,
so of course, the right to abortion must trump protecting born alive infants.
Well there goes the “I am a Christian” argument he puts up. Christians do not support the murder of unborn children for the sake of some woman’s inability to use birth control. yea, yea, yea, I heard all the arguments concerning all the other reasons. It is STILL murder.
I’m watching the March for Life on EWTN. The group started a chant, “Hey Obama, your Mama chose life!”
Forty million dead and counting. I wonder if the Obamination will mention that statistic.
I almost posted a comment that I cannot post - whew, that was close!!!
And if the "doctor" needs to keep the baby's feet for research, all the better.
Except the ‘doctor’ has made arrangements with tissue ‘harvesters’ to utilize the bodies of these murderous ‘procedures’ and thereby increase Herr Doktor’s profits with the murder for hire protected by the dead-soul democrats and their champion of wickedness, Barry the Bastard.
53 million was the latest number I heard.
Yeah, there really aren’t any exceptions in the Christian religion to “thou shall not murder”.
It doesn’t say, “unless it would burden your original decision not to”.
It is murder. No ethical/moral reason for an abortion ever.
I’d hate to have support for abortion at any time for any reason on my “personal record”
And counting. Worst than the Holocaust. Then there’s that doctor in Pennsylvania?
In any case I wonder if BO will mention that at the anniversary of RvW?
Yeah, why doesn’t he tout how “53 million women” have benefitted from “reproductive choice”?
He and the left and their “father” are averse to the truth being known to the people.
Thing that’s interesting though is, in the US the Supreme Court said it was ok, where in the UK it was a vote of the people. I just wondered if it would have gotten voted in here rather than mandated.
And the rest of us are suffering because of it!
