The monument of George Washington was concealed from the crowd during the annual King Day at the Dome rally.
The NAACP says no insult to Washington was intended - the three-sided structure that covered the front and sides of the statue was intended to display a rally graphic.

I had heard that this statue had been damaged previously so the intent was to protect it from the crowd. I’d buy that.

SOTC says NAACP ... You Lie! What BS. If it was really intended to merely display a 'rally graphic', they would have done so away from the statue.
This lying, hateful vitriol can be placed squarely at the feet of Barack 'You Lie' 0bama.
Their argument is a straw man. The boards with the graphic were free-standing and didn’t have to go around Washington’s statue.

Me too. I would be less so if Washington was facing out the open spot, or if it was fully enclosed but only half height to keep people from sitting on the base if their “damage” excuse was correct.
Still mildly offensive but not as bad as that.
Were George looking out through his statue, he was probably wishing all these silly, racist organizations would just go away. They are useless.

Many in that crowd would be wise to learn more about President Washington and perhaps seek a lifestyle with similar values.
The hatred the left has for America is becoming more and more evident and less closeted.
