Steampunk Sarah Palin

Here is a link I stumbled across while doing my daily Sarah search. http://www.comicsalliance.com/2011/01/20/steampunk-palin-comic// I’m no comics reader, but I know the power of the medium. Some will see see this as yet one more blow to Palin’s dignity. I beg to differ. Steampunk in described in Wkikpedia,http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Steampunk , as a genre of fantasy science fiction that explores an alternate universe in which steam is still the main source of energy. Many of the characters are part robotic. In this story Sarah Palin is depicted on the cover by artist Brian Denham http://www.briandenham.com/steampunk-palin/ as a kind of steampunk wonder woman. The interior comics are not as well drawn. In the story, the world’s store of oil has been destroyed. Sarah is leading the world in a war against a conglomerate that includes elements of nuclear power businesses and others which seeks to control the world. Obama, who appears in the comic as Robama, cautions Sarah not to take these people on because they are dangerous. Sarah tells him and a comic version of John Mc Cain to get out of the way as she heads up to Alaska to take on the bad guys. When she is successful, she discovers that the Dr. Evil on the other side is none other than Al Gore who invented Global Warning as a scheme to get rich.

I'm underwhelmed by the quality of the artwork, though.

Really? The cover Comedian posted looks pretty good. Standard, but a good likeness.

Thank you for the link. My daughter-in-law in rehearsals for a steampunk version of “A Midsummer Night’s Dream.” I’ve been trying to visualize what that means and now I have a better idea. I think it will be very cool.

LOL! Maybe you could get a poster of Steampunk Sarah to add to the wall of your new Steampunk master bathroom suite. :-)

The cover’s not bad, it was the interior illustrations that I thought were not very well done.

Yeah, I basically bought it for the cover.

The inside B&W artwork is mediocre at best. But I don't care.

At some point, I'll get Sarah to autograph it.

I will then die happy, right after I post the event to FR.

I just want to know how you got into Warehouse 13 to take that picture of the Jules Verne/Nemo computer screen and keyboard?

Well, at least they had the decency to cover the cleavage.

Yeah, there is that downside.

If she isn't the GOP nominee I predict a group suicide, (young S.E. conservative demanding the first sip from the 'death chalice').

How very fitting for you and the other nasty troll wtc911 to talk so vile about se_ohio_young_conservative behind his back, without so much as a courtesy ping.

Yup.

If anyone can find an available copy, maybe, *maybe* at your local comic store, I'd snap that baby up. They were published on Jan. 18th or 19th and are *Gonesville*.

Everyone will have their own opinion on this.

My opinion:

For Sarah Palin, "All publicity is GOOD. Some is just better than others"

The rock group RUSH is in between their 2-year “Time Machine” tour. Steampunk motiff. One of the new songs of their yet unreleased album is “Caravan”. GREAT video to go with the song in their live show.
